We came in at #8 in this week's CFP Committee rankings.

Lazy committee. Texas and Bama shouldn’t be behind Wash/Oregon.

Oregon has only one good win and they get too much credit for a loss.

Washington is unbeaten…I get it…but Oregon is their only really good win. Struggled badly against bad teams.

If Alabama only beat Texas Tech 38-30 like Oregon did we’d get crucified for that non conf win. Teams aren’t judged fairly.

I know right now it doesn’t matter ultimately but it’s the principle.

Outside of ticket sales, bigtime OOC games provide zero value for SEC teams. There’s no incentive to schedule those given the strength of our conference.

Now we had the chance to beat Texas and blew it, but at least we played them. We’d probably be ranked #1 or #2 if we had just scheduled Western Carolina.

I'm curious what happens if Ole Miss beats UGA and we beat Kentucky. Is the committee going to put Ole Miss ahead of us?

Obviously everything will sort itself out, but the committee so far hasn't put us ahead of Texas, even though we have a better resume, so what would they do with Ole Miss in that situation?

Alabama needs to beat the absolute dogshit out of Kentucky, Chatta, and Auburn if we can (not sure we can). There is pretty much no justification for Oregon to be ahead of Alabama based on resumes.

They’ve pretty much established they’re holding serve, resumes be damned. So next week would be

Ohio state
Michigan
Florida state
Washington
Oregon
Texas
Alabama
Ole Miss
Georgia

They’ve backed themselves into a corner with ranking Oregon 6th without any real justification for them being above Texas and Alabama. I think had Texas blown out KSU, you might’ve seen some movement. As it stands, they can’t rank Bama over Texas, and they couldn’t have Texas leapfrog Oregon after an OT win. Texas looking like shite but winning is hindering our upward mobility, because they’ve set the precedent that they like Oregon over Texas, despite Texas having a superior resume. Oregon is still riding their hype from beating an awful Colorado team when their hype was at a fever pitch.

Of all the committees, this one has done the worst job of ranking teams based on what they’ve done to date. You could argue that Oregon should be ranked behind Ole Miss

I'm also scratching my head over a top 25 Arizona who lost to State (no?) and played a couple of good teams closely. Seems to be a farewell bid to prop up the Pac 2

Texas loss hurt us, but it was the USF game that is keeping us down as much as that loss.

I think what’s keeping us below Oregon is Texas. The committee can’t put us above Texas because of the head to head. And Oregon passes the eye test where Texas hasn’t looked real good lately. We win out and beat Georgia in the SEC championship, we’ll be the top ranked one loss team and more than likely in the playoffs

I agree but Okie State probably beats Texas. OSU V UM, maybe FSU drops one, Wash V Oregon let’s see what happens a lot of football left.

Clearly a good comparison ... except Team A is Alabama, and Team B is Oregon and Texas combined.

Was talking about this on Sat. We need Texas to lose, because as long as Texas is a 1-loss team, we’re stuck behind them. Nevermind the fact we look better than we did week 2, and they look worse.

The Oregon shite I don’t understand at all.

Unless the Big Ten comes in and sanctions Michigan for the sign stealing thing (prohibits them from the post season) even if they lose to OSU, I still think they're in because of northern bias and they're a media darling.

Oregon stays as highly ranked as they do because of the popularity of the weird uniforms (Yes, I know that kids love their weird uniform combinations and their affiliation with Nike) and the heavy pull that Nike has over athletics. They played Washington pretty well but the rest of the schedule is a bunch of cupcakes. The "Civil War" (Oregon vs Oregon State) could be an interesting. Go Beavs!

Texas could possibly lose to OK State but I kind of doubt it.

Doesn't matter, Bama beats Kentucky, Chattanooga, Auburn and Georgia. Then we see what happens.

We need Georgia to be undefeated coming in to the SECCG. If they have a loss before then, Bama will need a little chaos to get in.
