If Ross was at Bama and had last year's production, then no one would even bother to ask this. Given his performance against Bama also, I'd say I'm ready to see him in the NFL.

He was sure elite against us

The answer is yes.
So is Trevor Lawrence.
So is Clemson.
Anyone who says otherwise is wearing Crimson colored glasses and isn't worth having a meaningful conversation with.

Yes, he is elite. He averaged over 25 yards per catch in the playoffs (top tier opponents) on 12 catches. That is the definition of elite.
And Trevor Lawrence is a better QB at 19 years old than over half of the starters in the NFL.
Clemson is fricking loaded with talent.

He is Julio Jones made over with a elite QB throwing to him.. very scary.

Yes. Elite WR from a powerhouse Alabama HS that Dabo cherry picked to go to Clemson

He's good but he is not Julio Jones.

Julio might be a top 5-10 WR in the nfl when it’s all said and done. That’s a stretch.

Did you guys watch the breakdown? Ross didn't eat Surtain up. Ross balled on a safety in McKinney and one of the worst DBs we've had in Saban era. Who were the elite DBs Ross faced when they played ND? Just because we put a scrub against him and he balled doesn't make him elite.

Ross, understandably, wasn't impressed with Alabama's offense. I suppose it made for an easy choice. I had hoped that Tua's performance in the national title game would change his opinion, but I guess it was just too late.

I think Lawrence is a great QB and a for sure future 1st round draft pick, but as of now I’d argue Ross is more elite than Lawrence and a safer draft prospect.

He probably is, but we made him look like a super star. He wasn't the only player that our defense made to look elite. We didn't stop anyone after the Auburn game. That was easily worst Saban defense I have seen.

If Clemson didn't have Ross, Trevor Lawrence would still be #1 in every 2021 mock draft but there wouldn't be a single list out there ranking him ahead of Tua for this season. He's a monster.
I can't blame him for leaving the state given what we had at WR at the time, it just would have been if he went to literally any other school in the country.

I wish we had him, but I doubt anyone is going to shed a tear with a team featuring Waddle and Jeudy at the WO position.
Personally, I am enjoying this competition with Clemson. It has kept things exciting. It's nice to have an equal to.
In 20 years when they run the 30 for 30 on Alabama-Clemson, it may have the single most clout of any college football series, ever. I think we should enjoy what we have. It's important to have an adversary like that in order to keep your edge as a program.

not taking anything away from either player, they're both very good. however, if a qb has as long as he needs to let a receiver, any receiver, come open. well then they all look elite. the clemson oline were the hero's of that game. that clemson olineman just said at acc media days, nd was a tougher game than bama. at first i chuckled, yeah right. but then i thought, he's proly correct. bama played with a one legged de, an exhausted superman ng and a big ole de that got pushed around all night.

I disagree. Lawrence, in my opinion, has much to prove but just off of physical gifts he's a top 5 pick. There are a lot of WRs that have come and gone in college football who looked great against inferior competition and that was mostly due to their size and not speed or route running. But, as soon as they faced a DB who was technically sound they folded. I remember Mike Williams at USC. Justyn Ross is nowhere near a Mike Williams at this stage.

This is why it's a bunch of BS that Saban only wins due to superior talent. That guy coaches his arse off!
