LSU fans melt over the dumbest stuff.
This is no different than a point spread. It doesn't mean a thing.

Kentucky has killer stats, man. No way they would lose to a team like LSU at home.

So kenpom weighs stats ahead of wins. Got it.
They obviously take officiating into account.

Or, in both games, Hudson couldn't miss. It didn't matter what he threw up, or who was guarding him, he simply couldn't miss.
The one area where LSU needs work is not valuing the ball in critical spots. For instance, LSU will make a stop, then try to push the ball too much, turn it over, and then the opposition nails a 3. It happens often and at the wrong times. That being said, LSU finds ways to win. I hope they can make it to the 2nd weekend of the tournament. At that point, all remaining teams have a legitimate chance.

Florida is strong on defense and horrid on offense (71st offensive efficiency) Yet, Florida scored enough for a win and an OT loss vs LSU.
Florida averages 68 points per game. LSU gave up 64 points in regulation in the first game and 72 points in regulation in the second game for an average of.........68 points.
It's not like Florida's offense exploded in either game.

If I read the KenPom data correctly, Florida average 63.1 points/game. Allowing a 5-6 point more to them is significant.

According to NCAA they average 68.3. That's updated through March 3. I guess it could be wrong.

What does the EM stand for? How is luck calculated?
Posted on 3/7/19 at 11:56 am to WildcatMike
Interesting stuff. I wonder if that link is outdated (it's 12 years old). It didn't define EM for me.

LSU has been winning close games. But their defense stats and data says their luck is about to run out.
LSU is 9-0 in conference ON THE ROAD because they were "lucky" LOL!
LSU beat Tennessee. Who only lost 2 other games ALL YEAR. And they did it WITHOUT WATERS. Because they were "lucky."
GTFO with your stupid shite troll.

LSU does not want to be matched up to a great 3 point team (UVA type of team).
You mean like Auburn? Ask them how draining 19 3's went.

If I'm understanding the KenPom luck part, LSU is almost the least luckiest team in the top 20. Unless the higher rank means more lucky, in which case, yes, KenPom is saying LSU has been lucky.
Hard to tell.

No, but UF's offensive efficiency in both games was well above its season average.
Also, UF plays at one of the slowest paces in the country.

Wow...i thought things are bad in Tuscaloosa seeing schools like Furman Wofford ranked ahead of Avery's team. Then I saw Grand Canyon U ranked ahead of Ewings Georgetown team (in the 90s)
