Need some data analysis stat.

Tua won the Maxwell and Camp awards

What is the statistical correlation to Camp and Maxwell award winners to Heisman winners over a data set of say the last 10 or 20 years?

I need this on my desk asap

For five seasons in a row (2013-17) the Walter Camp Award winner has gone on to win the Heisman Trophy. Last year, Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield was the winner of both awards. Prior to Tagovailoa, the most recent Alabama player to win the Walter Camp Award (as well as the Heisman Trophy) was Derrick Henry in 2015.

So... Maybe...

I personally think Murray has it won

Going back to the previous 10 seasons (2008-2017) the following years has seen a single player win the Heisman, Maxwell, and Walter Camp:

2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017

Going back to the previous 10 seasons (1998-2017) the following years has seen a single player win the Heisman, Maxwell, and Walter Camp:

1998, 1999, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017

Let me know if I missed any.

I think if more people voted early I like his chances but with so many waiting till after the championship games. I don't think it will be too close.

I’m shocked right now. If you recall the year AJ went he won best college player but Winston the other 3.

So you're saying there is a chance! Quick someone post the dumb and dumber gif.
If a really close vote do we get a runoff? ;)

Pretty sure these were voted on before the conference championship games though. The AP award that Murray ran away with is voted on after the championship games, and might be a better barometer this year on where the Heisman is going.

No correlation as this year is different and people voted for the other awards before Champ Week and the Heisman after.

I also hope that Q getting some heisman votes didn't take any away from Tua...

Honestly I don't get the feeling it's going to end up being close enough to matter.

The Heisman is to the player who meant the most to his team. That's why Ingram won it. The other awards are really the more important. Maxwell award should be far more important than Heisman. For QBs Unitas award is king behind Maxwell. Tua has won this award season already. He got the best player in CFB award.

Heisman has the press. Also the O'brien is considered the premier QB award, despite the Unitas actually having a more qualified voting panel.

That's all fine for you to say or think and all, but anybody who argues that the Heisman isn't the most prestigious and important is a little delusional.
