Apparently it was in support of Fields coming in the game.

Pretty wild and unfortunate situation though. Be interesting to see if anything comes from it.

According to the tweet in the article, he was yelling, "put that n***** in the game", apparently talking about Fields.

That's not good. I realize that the recruits don't sit close enough to students to hear exactly what they're saying, but I cringe to think that a recruit could hear someone yelling something like that while on a visit.
I wonder what kind of punishment he could potentially face. Sasser was a pretty good player for the baseball team last year. 2nd team all-SEC I think. What an incredibly stupid thing for him to do.

In this day and time and under the current climate on any college campus in America Sasser is toast...

You can't say what he said in public and if he said it, it is wrong and stupid on his part, no excuses...

Don't know if he's evil/racist etc. but he's a dumb frick and not very bright either way. Don't know him so not my place to judge him but many will...

Wish him the best...

Is Evans, Georgia a bit backwards...or is it still about 1918 in this guy's mind instead of 2018?

Kind of off topic but I noticed that in the Facebook message describing the incident, Klarissa says, "IF YOU ARE WHITE YOU CANNOT SAY IT. AT. ALL." If a group of black UGA basketball players was watching the game and one of them yelled, "Put that [N-WORD} in the game!" in reference to Fields, is that okay? Would there be an investigation of the player who yelled it? I'm wondering if the statement above reflects the opinion of the person who wrote the Facebook tweet or if there is actually a race-specific policy about this on campus.

Well that is embarrassing. I would think for the university to save face Sasser will have to go and a formal apology issued.

Way to go you dumb inbred hick.

Stay away from that kind of language, white people. If black folks talk like that, so what. Just stay away from it. Nothing but trouble and you will never explain your way out of it.

Will he be kicked off the team/university if they can't find any definitive proof, like a video or him just coming clean? If he just denies and his teammates stay quiet then it would be kind of hard to justify taking that extreme of an action. If he did do this then he's a dumbass who probably doesn't deserve to represent the university on the field.

I bet the players on the sideline yell it all the time.

Honestly I don't think anyone should say it.

But saying black people can say it and white's can't is racism in itself.

To hold one race to a different standard than the other is racism.

At the same time he ought to know in this society we have to walk on glass to appease the politically correct and their hypersensitivity.

I would just like to say a "frick you" to Adam Sasser for making race politics a relevant topic on a football board.

As you were.

I realize that people shouldn't so and say stupid things. But every American has the right to do so. We can't pick and choose what someone can and cannot say. If he'd said "get that cracker out of the game" referring to Fromm, there would not be a word spoken about it. The dude's stupid and was probably drunk (if he even said it), but we live in a country where people are free to kneel while the National Anthem is playing, but if people say stupid things against blacks, they are immediately jumped upon. Double standard that has to stop. There's freedom of speech in America, which includes freedom to be stupid. And it should be afforded to all fools.

The hilarious thing is this guy is probably a flat-bill-wearing hip-hop-listening white kid that was just trying to emulate and be like his hip-hop idols. By talking like them. Like so many white kids these days do.

That's the exact opposite of supposed boogey-man "racism".

This is a white kid trying to act cool by imitating black culture which he sees as cool.

And now coward morons with shite for brains want to ruin his life over it.

This culture today is almost too stupid for words. frick 75% of the people in this thread. Idiots.

There will be some who will say Sasser’s constitutional rights for free speech were violated, and there are courts that might agree. But putting on a uniform and competing in school colors changes things. There’s a decorum that comes with that, a standard. You’re representing a whole university, not just one American citizen gifted with unalienable rights.

So Georgia had no choice. For the good of the university, for the safety of campus and for the harmony of the athletics department, it had to part ways with Sasser.

Listen to Chip boys....he’ll guide you straight

If this had been done by a drunk student not on scholarship, would he be dismissed? If yes, then the right thing was done. if not, then Sasser should not have been dismissed. Maybe strongly lectured and sent to some silly politically correct sensitivity class and forced to publicly apologize with a letter in the Red & Black.
