Not sure how old you are but I remember it was a big deal before the interstates to go east if family did not live near a rail station.
Still have the same issues with passenger rail today when looking at East-West travel.

2 for South Carolina
1 for Costal Carolina

Hell, you are not even #2 in SC

Maybe. But this guy has a very SC vibe to him.
I don't know about a vibe. These are facts.
I served in the military and retired. SC puts a large number of people in the military, especially per capita. I grew to like South Carolinians and didn't hate Clemson at that time.
The Clemson distaste began when we played them maybe 10 years ago in Atlanta.
It grew worse over the last 4 years.
It hit a zenith when I spent a month in Greenville. The Gamecocks were fun and somewhat self-deprecating. The Clemson fans were insecure, arrogant, narcissistic and delusional.
One month around them cemented permanent hate. frick them.
And I have no use for Dabo, BTW. I appreciate the fact he played for the Tide, but he and I have zero in common. I think he's a shyster, snake oil salesman POS. I prefer CNS's directness and frankness to Dabo's "Aw shucks" to your face, let me leave the knife hanging out of your back BS.
That's all true. I really don't care if you believe me or not. Peace.

ETA: Vince Dooley helped us a lot as well when the time came. Another great man. He pushed hard for us at the time. So did Jeremy Foley ... as an assistant AD at UF I think he was at the time. He helped walk us through the process I was told.
I believe both USC and Arkansas had advocates within the SEC that helped get us in. For Arkansas, shockingly, it was long time arch-rival Ole Miss that pushed for us to be an expansion target. They played us every year and could vouch for our athletic facilities and fan base.
When Broyles first started putting out feelers about Arkansas looking for a new home it was Ole Miss officials he approached as I remember. Some twenty years later I believe I read that was Arkansas that served as the go between for Missouri and the SEC to start up talks.
Its the little things like personal relationships between ADs that drive a lot of how all this stuff plays out.

Glad y’all are here. Wish we got to play y’all more often. I would really like to make a trip to Williams-Brice someday.

Glad we've got USC. I especially enjoy the vicarious thrills of SC beating any of the North Carolina ACC teams, which are often.

Palmetto Series says different. Drastically different. You're a one trick pony and nothing more.

Let me get this right; you are saying USCe wasn't asked to join the SEC because of all the mountains between Columbia and the other SEC schools? The same mountains that are between Knoxville and Athens? Exactly where do you think Columbia is?
Even for you, this is a ridiculous stance. And believe me, we've all come to expect ridiculous shite from you.

I am saying when the SEC formed in 1932, the mountains were an issue on how to divide the old SIAA / SoCon. Spend some time in the archives at Vanderbilt - you need to make a reservation and wear special gloves - so plan accordingly. After looking at the old documents you can coma back and argue your point, but I am pretty sure even a slow coach like yourself will understand what is in the documents.
I have some more direct evidence but it is not in a history book so you may just have to take my word for it. However, in the 1970's you could drive to the L&N station in Louisville, KY and put your car on a train and have it travel with you down to Florida were it would be unloaded so you could drive your own car while down there. I can also tell you that before you were born, you could board a train in New York city and step off the train in Havana, Cuba without ever stepping off the train in between. I know you may think this impossible but I can assure it was so. What you consider ridiculous just shows me how little you Tater brain is able to comprehend.
For the sake of an SEC discussion, one is in Missouri, one is in South Carolina. As I have been to both I can assure you the one in SC is on the other side of the mountains from Lexington, Knoxville, and Nashville.
Did you even go to school, much less get a degree?

To be fair, they had the misfortune to peak at the wrong time in US history for their location.

All the former SWC teams should be kicked out. None were a good addition.

I don't think this is accurate...I can't stand Clemson or Scar, but I'm pretty sure Clemson whoops Scar in every sport that matters

I live in South Carolina and have a lot of friends on both sides. They have owned y'all at all 3 major sports. But with y'all being Scar fans, your big 3 sports might be different than what I consider the Big 3
