I don’t see why Aggie fans don’t want it? It’s a classic matchup that everyone even outside of Texas enjoyed watching. It could become even better now that a&m is in the SEC.

I couldn’t care less whether it comes back or not.
I’d support the decision either way.
But the facts are: Our schedule is currently booked.
Maybe that’ll change in the future.

The reality is that TAMU isn’t interested in breaking home and home OOC games to accommodate tu. We booked Miami, those two years prior.

tu reached out to us, knowing that we had booked Miami, simply so they could put us in position of either canceling Miami to play them, playing two P5 OOCs early in the season that year, or turning them down.

We aren’t playing their game.

If tu was serious about renewing, the XII and the SEC would be in serious discussions about putting game back on Thanksgiving, moving the LSU/Arkansas game back to this week, and also putting the MU/KU game back on this week also.

It needs to be state legislated like the South Carolina Clemson series. Like both schools HAVE to play that game.

If UT is such a bully, greedy, arse hole then just show them who’s the better team and kick their arse every year?

At this point I feel like A&M would win the game more often than not. Unless they choke.

That’s another great rivalry! I know KU sucks and all but these type of games are exciting and the records don’t matter. They are classic matchups that NEED to be played for the sport to be better.

Another is OU Nebraska.

You should check out our head to head record vs the sips since 1975. And also since 2006 we are tied 3-3.

Now I know you’re trolling.
If you think we need more government in any capacity—and for a stinkin’ football game—you’re nuts.

It sounds like Aggy believes the longhorns owned the refs. Not sure if that is true, but surely a LSU fan would sympathize, what with all the bitching about the R.E.C.

Exactly...it can boost some attendance figures and spark some excitement in College Station or other places where their school constantly finishes in the lower half of their division.

Of its conference? Not only that but the big 12 is the weakest conference in college football ?

Miami as a team that is contending for conference championships.

Compared to a bottom feeder in a bottom feeding conference that struggles to beat Iowa State and Kansas, I really think some of y’all have lost your minds

Simple solution: PLAY BOTH Miami and UT.

It shouldn't be that difficult if UT is as bad at aggy posters claim they are. But I'm thinking, as usual, aggys are filled with a lot of hot air.

But Miami is much better and stronger that tu, that is the discussion

No it's not. That's the aggy deflection.

tu would weaken our outbof conference strength of schedule

Not if you play Miami and UT. That'd be a hell of a strong OOC SOS compared to playing Miami and whatever directional college you'd pay to play.

Don’t you think it would be better for recruiting in Texas for you to be beating Texas schools?

Again, maybe that’ll happen in the future.
But our PsTB aren’t going to renege on current agreements with other universities, just to accommodate the horns.
I wouldn’t expect UTex to do that either.

I’m anti-the government sticking its nose into those things but if they did it I would accept it, it would also keep them from running away after a few beatings

at yall acting like Texas aint shite.

Playing Texas would make both teams way more money, its what the people want, and its even fun for even people non invested in the team, etc.

I dont give two shits about Miami v A&M.

Your AD a bish.

Meh, one game with App State isn't a big deal. I'm certain they'd be willing to make a year change this far out, so it's not reneging on an agreement so much as it is modifying it. That's commonplace in FB.

Add Texas to the open slot, morons. You don’t need to drop Miami to play Texas. You don’t need 3 cupcakes in non-conf play.

Florida plays FSU and has had Miami or another P5 in the same year. Georgia plays Tech and schedules another P5. Same with South Carolina.

The SEC has an 8 game schedule, while others have 9. So why are you scared to schedule two P5 OOC opponents LOL
