Meh:

SEC teams that play an annual P5 team that's within their state and outside their conference:

Georgia: GaTech
Florida: FSU
South Carolina: Clemson
Kentucky: Louisville

Teams within their state but in the same conference:
AU/UA
UT/Vandy
OM/MSU

Team that won't play a P5 team that's within their state:

Only Texas A&M:

TAMU won't play- TCU
TAMUwon't play- Baylor
TAMU won't play - Texas Tech
TAMU won't play- Texas

No, we did that because we needed all that racket for political cover when leaders in Texas wanted to tie us to the fates of programs like Baylor and Texas Tech. It was a close call for us because of them, as the Baylor lawsuit shows.

Good point.

That was a helluva political mess.

But they are still your rival even if you won't admit it.

Honestly it would be really funny if Aggy scheduled a series with TCU just to stick it to Texas

But Aggy was exponentially more vocal about Texas than any other former or current Big 12 fanbase.
whats your point here? we were vocal about what they were pulling, because WE COULD BE. we had the clout to tell texas to frick off and go join the SEC. you think baylor or iowa state or tech could? we were more vocal about the shite they were pulling, because we didnt have to suck their dicks to keep the conference together

I don’t have a problem scheduling a home and home with TCU, or even Tech.

No to Baylor...ever.

And I think the tu series will be renewed at some point when they are ready to play it annually.

This.
I’d love to play TCU and Tech.
And the Ags and horns will certainly meet up again when logistics align.
No clue how Rhino arrived at his incorrect statement.

The football series is pretty much dead even in our lifetimes

But you’re right about our leadership wrongly trusting in your leadership for too many years, we should have given them the middle finger sooner

Of its conference? Not only that but the big 12 is the weakest conference in college football ?

Love how you guys talk so much trash about the Big 12. You must’ve been perennial powerhouses. How many times did you when the Big 12?

Fact: The Longhorn Network Contract had all kinds of shite in it that the Big 12 never approved (like the fricking state championship game being on the network) because Texas thought they could ram through anything. The defense of this I remember from back in the day was “well big dicks swing Aggy.”

Fact: We were 100% part of the Big 12 and recommitted to it prior to the LHN contract coming out thanks to a freedom of information request which showed it had provisions the Big 12 never agreed to. According to the 100 Year Decision our AD confronted the Texas AD about it during a Big 12 meeting and the Texas AD basically said the Big 12 had to deal with it because the deal was done.

The article that started it all

quote:

The concept was announced long ago, but alarms were raised when ESPN programming vice president Dave Brown said in a recent Austin radio interview that programmers would target contests — including one in Scottsdale, Ariz. — in which Texas recruits were playing.

Are you that stupid?

Nebraska
Texas A&M
Missouri
Colorado

You seriously don’t see that the big 12 was much stronger 7 years ago?

Tech had Leach, Baylor had Briles, and KU had Mangino. At different times all 3 of these bottom feeders were good to very good. OSU and Gundy have their momnets. OU had Stoops. And tu had Mack. Add back in CU, NU, MU, and A&M and you had a damn good conference. The Big 12 South was ridiculous like the SECW for a few years.

Absolutely, A&M was in coaching turmoil and at its absolute weakest when the big 12 was every bit as strong or stronger than the SEC is now
