You have a guy who grew up in Louisiana but works in Texas because he can’t get a decent job back home and suddenly you have the exact kind of dumbass that is willing to say things like the Aggies “ran away” to a division with the best program of all time in it.

The Aggies did go to great lengths to tell anyone who would listen how badly Texas treated them and that's why they were leaving the Big 12.

You can now say it's solely because y'all were jumping at the great opportunity that the SEC presented but it sure sounded like Texas treating y'all (and the rest of the Big 12 not named Oklahoma) unfairly was the impetus that triggered Aggy bolting.

Call me crazy but I don't think you can have it both ways. You can't claim they treated you terribly and then claim you didn't bolt to get away from them.

Would you drop Miami from your schedule this year and replace it with tulane?

But yet that is exactly what you guys are arguing that we should do

I think most are saying you should drop a G5 program to play Texas

Yes, you ran away from you big brother. Don’t make me find the all time series record for football, baseball, basketball.

Football: UT 76-37-5
Baseball: UT 243-126-5
Hoops: UT 137-86

I’m guessing not many “rivals” have lost 456 times to their superior.

Four hundred and fifty fuching six.

Not to mention a 9-1 advantage in NC’s.

Don’t they have a good rodeo team or something? A&M has been good in hoops recently, not many remember how trash they used to be.

Again, that's exactly what you expected the Longhorns to do when you got your divorce you wanted.

Newsflash: Divorced people don't frick anymore. Take your SEC West cornholings and STFU.

I disagree with any talk of reviving the series from either side.

They were a meat judging power house, but Texas Tech took that from them.

You’d think they would be good at the Rifle Championships with all of those tin soldiers running around, nope.. West Virginia owns that.

Indoor track? I think they have won a few championships there.

I’m guessing they dominate the male cheerleading competition by default.

Why? It’s very very simple. I will boil it down for you with just facts:

Fact: In 2010 the country learns that Texas was planning a massive merger with the PAC conference without consulting the Big 12 programs involved. When our leaders contacted Texas to learn more we were told “don’t worry we will take care of you.”

Fact: The SEC offered both A&M and OU a SEC invite in 2010 to stop the PAC from getting those programs. We both ended up turning it down at the time.

Fact: The Longhorn Network Contract had all kinds of shite in it that the Big 12 never approved (like the fricking state championship game being on the network) because Texas thought they could ram through anything. The defense of this I remember from back in the day was “well big dicks swing Aggy.”

Fact: We were 100% part of the Big 12 and recommitted to it prior to the LHN contract coming out thanks to a freedom of information request which showed it had provisions the Big 12 never agreed to. According to the 100 Year Decision our AD confronted the Texas AD about it during a Big 12 meeting and the Texas AD basically said the Big 12 had to deal with it because the deal was done.

Fact: When we called the SEC to see if the offer was still good after these backhanded tactics, we were told yes it was and that the SEC was willing to go to 13 teams so we could join.

Fact: The Big 12 still does not have a conference network and the SEC has one that is shared equally among teams including A&M.

So Texas treated us bad as a business partner (the whole Big 12 really) and we used the leverage we had to get in a better situation for us anyway. It’s called a win win.

You should write a book. That was all factually accurate. Good memory.

Hell yes you should cancel Miami. Thst game doesn't matter at all.

Aggies are always crying about the Thanksgiving day game, that could lineup perfectly and you screw it up.

We don't give a damn when we beat your arse, Texas can have that day.

Thanks.

I don’t know shite about football so an embarrassing amount of conference realignment knowledge is my contribution.

Your fans mention LSU’s wins vs A&M more than any other subject.

The Miami game is as big as any other OOC on our schedule.
We won’t be dropping it, now that the ladies from ATX need a decent home match-up.

That's a whole lotta facts to say "Yes, Texas treated us poorly so we ran to the SEC".

It certainly was a smart business move. But the impetus was getting away from a toxic relationship.

And of course they treated the whole Big 12 poorly. But Aggy was exponentially more vocal about Texas than any other former or current Big 12 fanbase. Because they were/are your biggest rival. When you care to admit it...

No, we did that because we needed all that racket for political cover when leaders in Texas wanted to tie us to the fates of programs like Baylor and Texas Tech. It was a close call for us because of them, as the Baylor lawsuit shows.

We got it boiled down to “they got their toy (LHN) and we want ours (SEC)!” which was a dialect politicians could understand. And because Texas took their toy without asking any of them if it was ok it only seemed fair that we had to get our toy too.

And it’s worked out great, our toy had been way better.
