I agree. Louisville is a shithole city. Starkville is a decent college town with some good food. I'll take Starkville any day.

I’m hearing a lot of Schloss talk/hints from some credible friends that work in Cohen’s office. The only thing they have mentioned for certain is that this hire will take place very shortly after the new coach’s last game with his current team.

You should listen to them talk about the upcoming football season. They really have zero self awareness about who and what Mississippi State is

What is the talk? That we'll win 8, 9, or possibly if things go well 10 games and be ranked from around 10-20? What the hell is delusional about that? I mean, we won 9 last year, 9 in 2015, and 10 in 2014.

Again, what is the delusion? From all accounts I'm pretty sure he's right.

Why did Miss State hire Lee Begley's side action instead of Schlossnagle or Corbin last go around?

It's the difference between a 2 week lead time & a season long search.

Cann was hired on short notice after Stricklin went to UF and Cohen moved his office to AD.

Probably, because the hiring went down in November only a few months before the season began. Remember, Cohen resigned in late October to become AD. I'd imagine not many established coaches would leave during that time. That's like a football coach leaving a school in June/July to go to another. It never happens.

There's several State poster calling for a playoff berth, I've seen several say worst case second in the West... What you said isnt delusional at all, although I have y'all 3rd to 5th in the West.

Good thing “several posters” don’t speak for the whole fanbase. Otherwise the whole Auburn faithful would be retarded if you were the representative.

Yeah, all fanbases have their delusional idiots. I'm sure most reasonable State fans like myself expect 8-10 wins if things go well and 6-7 if it is a disaster.

So you are expecting 10 wins with your new coach? Sounds reasonable

Right, but at least on this board the reasonable State fans like yourself seem to be the outlier instead of the other way around. Just like at this thread from a couple days ago to predict State's record. In the whole 9 page thread only 2 other State posters predict less than 10-2 (they both say 9-3) and besides you I only see one other State poster who says 8-4 is even possible and that was his "floor".

When you're breaking in a 1st yr HC and he's replacing your GOAT, when your QB isn't accurate and struggles mightily against good defenses, and your offensive skill players are average at best, and you have two top 10 teams in your division, and in the entire history of your program you've only won 10 games 3 times and never 11 wins... Well all that makes 10-2 a lofty arse goal, and 11-1 downright delusional

So that doesn't seem to be the case at all on this board. Especially not the 6-7 win floor.
