Georgia is the best job in the SEC but can be a nightmare

It's the best job for simple reasons: (1) Population. The best/most big time football athletes in America are not in California, Texas or Florida. Rather they are in Georgia. Every position on the field except QB/OL/TE is dominated by black athletes. And Georgia has the biggest black population of any state in America and has had for a few years. Further Georgia is a football mad state with great high school coaches. So the effective recruiting population is far and away the biggest. (2) No in state competition for players. None. Tech doesn't even recruit most of the players going to UGA. Occasionally you'll have the outlier like the receiver who went to Cal who has academics @ the top of his list and will seriously consider GT but the most serious competition for Georgia comes from out of state. Namely Auburn with the "Garner" effect. Auburn will get on guys early and play ball and they have a standoff with UGA to where neither is going to turn the other in. But Kirby is just as "aggressive" as Auburn so that will likely hurt AU. But 8 out of 10 guys are gonna choose Georgia because the Georgia alums are "united" mister. The guys Saban gets are ones that Georgia for the most part pass on. Kirby brought some guy to UA that MR wouldn't take because of borderline conduct issues. Many of whom got in trouble @ Bama and left or were booted. The biggest threat going forward will likely be Pruitt. He is a pure football coach and a dynamic recruiter and a silent runner. And is not scared of the devil himself. Along with Dabo who is a charming little dickens. The moms fall in love with Dabo. So UGA gets most of whom they want with Auburn an Clemson squabbling over a small piece of the action and Pruitt yet to be heard from. Only problem for Georgia is the Atlanta effect. Lots of players have some issues. Much like some of the kids @ LSU from N.O. That's the potential nightmare.
Further Smart is nothing like Richt. He will do whatever it takes and his work ethic and demands are in line with what the Georgia fans expect. He brought all those hell for leather guys from UA and around so the culture has changed. The matchups with USC (they've got some snakes on that staff too and WM may be a better pure football coach than Kirby) and Pruitt's Vols will be ferocious in a couple or three years. JP is one tough hombre.
Hang on boys the SEC has turned into a ***k, fight or go for your guns situation rather quickly. Jimbo @ Aggie, the potential power @ LSU, AU will play ball and won't give in or give up, the Ding Dong Daddies from Dumas in Tuscaloosa, Mullen @ UF, Vols under Pruitt/Fulmer, USC lurking, even the new guy @ State and of course Kirby. Everybody can't win!

Alabama is the best job in the SEC. Nobody else in conference is even close.

How do you figure? It’s a great gig for anyone named Saban. Once he’s gone it’s going to be a nightmare.

You've already given yourself away.

You used "whom" correctly but managed to frick up everything else. Seems odd.

Are you suggesting that this account is somehow less than legitimate?

Because it is Alabama, fool. College football royalty. Many articles have been written on it. Here is a whole page of them. I have been debating this for a week with Tillman. Look through the articles and you will find not one writer has any sec job ranked ahead of Bama. In fact most articles have the Bama job number one in the country. LINK

All of that long post just to get a down vote.

Football wise Alabama is easily the best job in the SEC.
U can make a very, very, very strong argument it's the best in America. I can't think of one that's any better.

The Bama job is only good so long as 1.) the UA administration gives the HC carte blanche to spend and build whatever is needed, and 2.) the HC actually knows exactly what is needed to get to the top and stay there. Right now, Bama has achieved perfect balance of those two with Saban at the helm. But as soon as one of those 2 things gets thrown out of whack, the sheer success hangover the Bama admins and fanbase will experience will make that job toxic for years.
I mean no program has ever experienced the combination of dynastic dominance, TV exposure, and big money as Alabama has in its current run. It's a plum job for Saban, sure, but there is just no way that there aren't serious ramifications for the HC position when Saban one day retires. What coach in their right mind will want to follow him and try to live up to Bama fans' and donors' expectations when there are less stressful jobs with as good or better resources combined with lower expectations?

Yep. 2 reasons. Post is WAAAAAAAAY too long. Secondly, nobody believes UGA is the best job in the SEC. It’s so far removed from the truth, there is no point in even considering reading your long-arse post.

UF is the best job in the SEC, they just keep fricking it up.
1. Recruiting Base
2. School Academic Reputation
3. Facilities
4. Money

Saban is not the first coach to have a dynasty at Bama. This is the second time in my lifetime that Bama has had a coach win 5+ championships in his time at Bama. You can sit there and claim UGA is a better job but I am telling you nobody is buying it. Bama is the best football coaching job in the conference and everybody knows it. Dude it isn't even close.

Bamas the only blue blood in the conference. There are lots of teams with regional followings but only Bama is mentioned with Notre dame, michigan, Texas, USC, etc and has actually has better tradition than those.
As far as state population or other bullshite goes, this country allows u to move pretty freely from state to state so I don't know why people think that matters.

How many NC would Saban have with the old system of Conferense Bowl tie-ins and polls. He only has the one undefeated season.
