He hasn't got one commitment since taking over and lost 4 that were already committed. It may be a little tougher to recruit without the spear.

More likely that he looked at the tissue soft players that Rumlin liked to sign and wondered if he had made the right career choice.

Are you talking about the 2019 guys? I doubt they stick but we'll see. Regardless NSD is Wednesday and aTm is currently ranked in the 50s. Quite a long way from the top 15 classes Sumlin pulling

He got screwed a little bit by the early signing period. Hell, Texas had a few months last year to sign kids and couldn't sign a top 25 class.
It's looking like Jimbo is going to lockup most of the top Texas kids in 2019 though. So all is well.

Odd timing for this flame.
We've got the #3 class currently for 2019, and we lead for an ungodly number of 2019 guys. We're are in great, great shape for at least a top 5 national class in 2019.
As for 2018, we're going to get a bunch of guys between now and signing day. The 2018 class will end up somewhere around 20, which is pretty amazing considering the transition year and the first early signing period during the transition year.
We've got the #3 class currently for 2019, and we lead for an ungodly number of 2019 guys. We're are in great, great shape for at least a top 5 national class in 2019.

First of all he got 2 JUCO commits.
And it's not like we're striking out on the 2018 commits, the remaining targets after the early signing period haven't committed anywhere.

Going to bookmark this. I expect to flip a few Alabama commits, shore up the RB, and a TE or two, and annihilate the 2019 class. Most importantly, he locked Gunnell back up yesterday so 2019 is going to be a lot of fun.
I think he finishes in the 15-20 range, and doesn't even take 25 this year.
