Actually, we did play a tougher schedule and with a lame duck coach. What is sad is that the B12 is simply pathetic yet the sips lost a whole lot anyway. Wasn't the burnt orange media and fan base forecasting a 12-1 season? Like that is pretty much ever going to happen.

Here's a hint. Herman is an immature weirdo, and an embarrassment on the sidelines.

Chip Brown absolutely predicted a national championship and an undefeated season last year.

Of course you would also think you played a tougher schedule and had a better year/team.

IDK who was better. We sucked and fired our coach. I'm not bragging about how many young guys we played even though it was a ton.

aggy being aggy.. Texas had 16th-25th toughest schedule vs 40th-45th for A&M depending on which EOY metric you use.

I'm not bragging either Festus, I'm challenging one of your delusional cucks statements. A statement you also supported.

It’s the exact same thing that happened without Herman at Texas last year. People made fun of him for not closing well despite not having relationships with those recruits, then he did incredible in the 18 class.

I fully expect A&M to end up with a top 5 class next year as long as they win 8+ games.

It is playing out exactly like that and they can't see it. I wouldn't even be shocked if Jimbo had similar results his first year on the field with as much of a transition as it will be for the systems and culture.

50s.... 35th. Numbers are hard.

I think starting say today and into Wednesday things might just change drastically.

since the truthbusting anointed one started this thread, A&Ms class has gone from the 50s...to 35th...to 23rd.

It's difficult to hold onto a player that is already a commit, but obviously it's far more difficult to bring in players when that person doesn't already have an existing relationship with the new coach.

LSU had an easier time holding onto players after the 2016 season because Orgeron was already a member of the staff and had relationships with committed players. When we hired Kirby, we were lucky he had a relationship with a lot of those players when he was at Bama. The same will be true of Pruitt this season. They won't be as good as classes the following season, but they'll be adequate. Herman and Fisher were at a severe disadvantage. Both were new to a lot of recruits (as far as relationships go). Same with Matt Rhule at Baylor last season.

Fisher is a big name, and a proven coach. As long as he shows improvement, I expect A&M to have a monster class, especially with the talented crop of WR in Texas next year.

Herman secured 12 new commits in '17.
and how many of those were on NSD?

if the success of jimbos transition class rests ENTIRELY on the decision of three kids, shouldnt we be able to judge hermans who didnt even have to deal with an early signing period?

Ran the numbers.. Herman secured 12 new commits in '17. 6 have started already and will start next year. 2 4*'s red shirted as well as 3*'s.

And finished with the 25th ranked class. Zero top 100 players. 2nd rated commit only went to Texas because UGA didn't have room for him. Not a single 4 star commit outside of Carter committed in 2017. Class was fine, but this year he was able to establish relationships with these recruits and it shows in the recruiting class. The same thing will happen with A&M this year. Fisher might get guys like O'Neal who are longtime A&M leans, but it's really difficult to get toss ups when you don't even get to see how the coach runs things in the fall.

Next year will tell so much more about A&M's future, and as of now, I think it looks bright. Easily have the second best coach in the conference and there are very few programs who look to be on the upswing outside of UGA, and maybe SC (both in the East). Arkansas, UT, UF, State, and A&M are all in very similar positions, except A&M made the best hire of the bunch.
