I expect 2019 to be a really good class. Check out Wiltfong's predictions for A&M in 2019 already. All of the state's best are CB'd to the Aggies. That's why you see 247 feverishly rearranging the rankings for Texas, as Burton is famous for doing
Brian Williams already took a fall down the rankings, and I expect Brown and Wolfe to follow suit. But we lead for more than a dozen 4-5* prospects right now. We cannot take them all, so Texas will get a few decent ones when it is said and done. They can fight OU for the scraps ;)

Herman had a great 2018, but that was recruiting against a dead man walking in Sumlin. He's getting killed by Fisher for 2019. Unless something changes, A&M is going to own the top prospects from Texas in 2019.
I think we can all count on things changing.
Again, it's better for him to have those 2019 in the fold, but it's 2019.
Far, far, far more critical for him to get some folks into the 2018 class by Weds.

Oman. Good posts. The other is a troll. Let’s all go by 247 composite versus one board sip troll. And let’s see how 2018 finishes.
2019 is a long way away but it’s better to be in our position versus not having any commits.
Lastly, Herman owned Houston this year... but he was from Houston and got the coaching bump.... how good was his 2017 class?
Give Jimbo a year. If he sucks in recruiting we will all come back and take our lumps. My guess is he finishes top 10. Anything less will be a disappointment considering the instate talent in Texas for 2019.

In Herman's first year he didn't have to deal with early signing and still could only muster a class rated 29th. Jimbo should be ahead of that.
Herman's 2nd year he got Sumlin who was on the hottest of hot seats and 1st year unknown in Riley. That is a dream scenario. Now Jimbo is here Riley is more established, and year 2 looks very different.

Ony top 10 will be a disappointment for me. Top 5 or bust.

Expectations of a loser program. If he's already focusing on 2019 a top 10 class isn't good enough, it needs to be elite or aTm will fall farther behind in the talent dept

Then I’ll add the last 5 years of Texas recruiting ranking and will include this years no. 3 class (if it holds). 2013 kids if redshirted could play this year.
2013 - 17
2014 - 17
2015 - 10
2016 - 7
2017 - 25
2018 - 3
Average 5 years prior to 2018 - 15.2
Average 6 years including 2018 - 13.17
So does that make Texas a loser program?
No need to include A&Ms since you’ve already concluded we are a loser program. Lol.

No, Texas has the no. 3 class in the country. If aTm pulls the no. 3 class next year it will be obvious to everyone Jimbo is doing a good job and just needs some time. That's if he finished top 3 which he won't but he should considering he has seemingly given up on this years class. What exactly has aTm won? The mumber 2 school in Texas should have a trophy case full, is it?

Do you write like you talk cause you write like a 13 year old girl who just strings all her sentences together and is basically functionally unable to use the written word to express thoughts.
And yes, I fully expect 2019 to be top 5 class for A&M. And I fully expect 2018 to be a top 20 class. Jimbo has put together an amazing staff, and he's an elite level recruiter.

Recruiting at an elite level at FSU is quite different than recruiting at an elite level at aTm, obviously.

That's true. Given FSU's membership in the ACC and the fact that big brothers Florida and Miami make it harder for FSU, that I have to admit that what Fisher was able to do at FSU is damn impressive.

NSD '18 isn't even in the books, let's see how things play out. Waddle, Brown and Jackson are still available and that's what will decide if Jimbo had a successful yet abbreviated '18 for A&M.
Discussing '19 @ this point is even crazier.

Every single coach in the country is. Most '18 classes are 80-90% full with early signing period.

Just those 3? What about Corbin, Strong, Martin, Purdy, Beal, Taylor, Ingram, Porter, Jenkins, Gerald, JB, & O'Neal?

Most classes are full but not aTm's. Lol that anyone thinks it's easier to recruit aTm than FSU.
Posted on 2/5/18 at 12:15 pm to Pdubntrub
Right, so if anyone is not focused on '19 it is Jimbo since he has to close out '18.

Newsflash. It's hard to recruit elite athletes to your school when you've only been in the state for 3 weeks.
And your fear of Jimbo's recruiting prowess is extremely evident.

No one is afraid of Jimbos recruiting prowess . He's no longer at FSU.
