I heard it was negative recruiting by Kirby that caused the bad blood.

Kirby doing his job to get recruits for alabama. Mcclendon mad that he was losing out on some guys.

I'm sure it went both ways. I would imagine McClendon is pretty loyal to Richt and probably didn't appreciate Kirby shitting on Richt's program. In turn, he probably had some less-than-flattering things to say about Kirby.

I would be shocked if everybody doesn't do it. Some recruits listen to it. It turns some recruits off.

He was great at recruiting Georgia guys to Georgia. He seems like a good recruiter, but hasn’t gotten anyone we really wanted since he left, well Jaymest was one. Not sure I’d call him a beast but he’s a good coach and recruiter. I think Pruitt was a good hire all things considered.

Ortree?

Come on man, it's South Carolina. Ever been to Columbia?

Sony was from Ft. Lauderdale.

He's from South Carolina I think.

The point is that it's probably not reasonable to expect McClendon to recruit as well anywhere as else as he did at UGA. That's valid imo.

RBs coach at UGA is a seriously advantaged recruiting job.

I know. You were discussing his ability to come into Georgia and be a beast...

I’m very surprised he didn’t get a Tosh Lupoi.

Why? Is in not obvious that Lupoi will be Alabama's next DC?

Would be a monster hire. Helton, McClendon and Gillespie in the same offense. Mother of God

What's the over/under this year on the date that Tenners start predicting NC's. Mother of God.

I believe JP and staff will get the attention of the roster this off-season and several players might hit the door by request or on their own. I'm not sure about the talent level left behind by Butch. A winning record in 2018 would be a good start. It's time for the Vols to get back to being a good football program. 11 in a row is sweet no doubt but it's better to beat somebody that has beaten someone.

I don't disagree that they'll probably have this happen... slight problem though is the hard cap of 25 now. You can't run off too many guys these days, or you end up playing at a handicap... no ability to overstock a class without dipping into the future class' initial counter limits.

What a stupid handle.

It's another V&S alter. The dude makes a UT thread and then he's always the first one to post a response on his own thread. Very predictable.

I'll be SHOCKED if Tennessee doesn't have a top 3 recruiting class in 2019.

Butch Jones was able to land 2 top 5 recruiting classes in his first 3 years and that staff didn't have anywhere close to the caliber of recruiters this staff has. And the state of Tennessee was not as loaded with talent as the state will be in 2019.

This is an elite staff Pruitt has put together will a lot of elite recruiters. The state of Tennessee is also loaded with an unprecedented class of instate recruits in 2019. It'll be very hard for them to land an elite recruiting class in 2019 and 2020.

Two words: Cade Mays.

Nevermind the fact that the SCs only offense is their passing game, he's also BY FAR their best recruiter.

The state of Tennessee's highest rated recruit for 2019 is .95 on 247.

You have to go down to #15 on Georgia's list to get to a .95, that's not really surprising considering the talent in Georgia next year.

UGA already has the two of the top three players in state committed for next year, and will most likely have all 3 of the top 3 before it's over.

I meant unprecedented in terms of Tennessee classes of the past. 247 currently has 18 composite 4-stars in Tennessee for the class of 2019. That is twice as many as the state has had in 2017 and 2018. And both those years were considered the most talented instate classes ever in the state of Tennessee.

Talent across the state of Tennessee is at an all-time high right now.

This happens during transitional years.

Lets see what happens next year.

I got a feeling Pruitt locks down the state in 2019.

I like Alabama's chances for a couple of the top 15 in Tennessee for 2019. Particularly Bill Norton from Memphis.
