Question for Bama fans

When y’all compliment other SEC programs and/or their decisions are y’all doing it because y’all feel so unthreatened by anything other SEC programs can do that you can actually see the situation impartiality, or is that just a clever ruse designed to troll the rest of us by acting like you are above it all?
Thanks
Thanks

I can only speak for myself, but...

I have no idea what you're talking about.

They are just hoping their kindness will be repaid when Saban retires and they go on a 25 year span of coaches named Mike.

When another program does something that, in my opinion, will better that program, I applaud their efforts.
When another program does something disastrous, I laugh. I’m laughing at Tennessee right now.
The difference between this and people irl is that if a colleague/friend/family member does something to better themselves, I will still celebrate their achievements. Should they fail, however, I try to empower and motivate them to try and do better next time.
In short: when it comes to football, I’ll gladly acknowledge your accomplishments and criticize your mistakes.

Helluva question! Since I honestly don't care about what the rest of y'all think (no offense, but I'm too old to worry), my compliments are usually sincere...unless I'm being sarcastic.

We don't feel threatened in Football. Oh, there will be a year here or there but over the long haul we have been, are and always will be the football program in the SEC. Other sports no. We will never have the dominant basketball program but football, yes, so we can compliment without prejudice. We compliment but know we are the best program so it's not a problem. When we say miles or muschamp are great coaches, We mean for you, Not for us.

I find e majortbof Bama fans here are pretty objective plus the first five years of this run were more fun when we were beating the crap out of good LSU and Florida teams rather than what the sec has become. I like the changes being made.

I frankly thought that was the answer, it makes the most sense. Y’all all show the cracks in the facade when y’all talk about Bama in a kinda nutty way, or when you get offended when a Harbaugh sets up camps or when just the right Auburn troll floats along. But the rest of the time y’all aren’t like fricking teminators, dealing out painful compliments like they are hot lead. That is too hard of a troll to keep going for as long as y’all have done it.
Must be nice.
Must be nice.

Like a good father, we take pride in seeing our children make good decisions, with the exception of Auburn, of which we treat like your annoying, pompous sister's kid that boasts whenever her little child does well. We secretly wish the nephew would fail miserably.

That is just so weird compared to the rest of us who feel like we have to be spin doctors or PR specialists for our program 24/7.

Are feeling unthreatened by someone or something and/or feeling the need to trick it somehow the only conditions under which you will give a compliment?

Kinda yeah.
I mean I think every SEC program is quick to throw compliments over the division wall because we rarely play each one of those teams except the permanent rival, but otherwise the entire SEC acts like this sport is zero sum.
Of course there are exceptions to the rule, and for each major decision you can find a compliment from a good sport. But you will also find the inverse- some thread that is trying to prove Mullen will suck at UF, or that O is better than Jimbo, or whatever spin we can put on the bottle.
But Bama fans don’t make that other thread except in specific cases. Y’all throw out that compliment and move on. It is really a mind frick I have to admit.

You must have really hated 2000-2007.

Why wouldn't they be "above it all"?
Posted on 12/5/17 at 7:22 pm to cardboardboxer
for me, i understand that a strong lsu, tn, fl, ga, auburn, texag, arky and so forth, makes for a strong sec. every team in the conference benefits from a strong conference. just look at the bowl games this year. yes there are 2 sec teams in the cfp. but after that, the fiesta, cotton and orange bowls all have big ten teams. the sec got the chik fil a bowl. so when i compliment another sec team, i mean it.

You are a good example of why. OU is a prestigious enough program to be above wasting your time on a SEC forum telling Aggies they suck, but here you are with a pile of other dirt farmers doing just that.
Bama fans are a whole other animal.

Not really. I see quite a few Bama fans telling you that you suck on a daily basis.

The idiots flinging poo are never the standard. The standard is what the capable ones do.
Capable LSU fans throw together stats that make O look better than Jimbo. Capable Longhorns can almost do the Aggie’s taxes for us. Capable Sooners give you a history lesson of why you suck or a snide comment to enforce a position of dominance.
Capable Bama fans throw out a compliment when warranted (unless Auburn is involved) and go about their day. It’s fricking weird and there is nothing like it among other top programs nationally.
