Against that #8 defense he threw for 598 yards with a 66.7% completion percentage, with 5 touchdowns.

There's a reason he's winning the Heisman.

He's the kind of QB that can win games by himself, regardless of whether or not the opponent is better in every other phase.

He really is that good.

They only scored 31 points at OSU so throwing 5 TD passes would be impossible. He was really, really good that day though.

Oh wait.... I thought when you typed OSU you meant Ok State.... you meant Ohio State.

Against Oh St, he was only at 386 yards with a 77% completion for three TD's.

Well here's to hoping that a month or so of preparation and practice will have the defense ready to ball out.

I won’t predict a win because our secondary is suspect...but I will tell you that OSU is very good at stopping the run, but struggles vs the pass. Since Oklahoma wants to throw the ball all over the yard, that played to their strength.

We will need to be able to run the ball effectively and hold the ball for long, sustained drives in order to keep them off the field. I think the game comes down to that more than anything.

Mayfield against our secondary is scary. I bet they're watching that Mizzou game tape right now.

See: whatever that was that Wisconsin trotted out to play Quarterback... something called a Horny-Brook? He was not good last night, but still continually found open room in their secondary.

That's only one part of the equation, we also have to get a turnover from them so we get 1 more drive than they do.

He's only thrown 5 ints in 369 attempts.

Their running back is also pretty good.

And I can't seem to find the Baker Mayfield/Oklahoma version of this one:

If anyone sees it out there, please add.

Lock was certainly the most comparable, pro-style QB we've faced this season. Good call.

Thinking back to that Mizzou game, it wasn't until Mel decided to turn up the blitzes were we able to contain Lock. Stidham was very hot coming into the SECCG and Mel did a fantastic job being assertive and aggressive with his blitz calls. I can only hope he does the same against Mayfield or it's going to be a long afternoon.

I really don't think Mayfield has a seen a defense with our speed in his collegiate career. If he can sustain drives with short and quick passes, so be it. We've got to use our speed to our advantage to take away the run game (to the outside), screen game, and the deep game.

I also think it's important to be physical as frick against OU. After that Ledbetter penalty yesterday, the Dawgs got fricking primal. Hard hits. Dirty hits. shite talking. Not thinking, just letting skill take over. If they do that against OU, Bama, Clemson, they're all fricked. That performance yesterday, from the Ledbetter penalty on, was a different UGA team than we've seen all season. That was a championship-calibre team.

My thought after that one was pretty much:

"If they're going to throw flags no matter what we do and they can do whatever they want with minimal flags... might as well make that shite count. Scorched Earth mother frickers..."

The exact same types that pissed in their pants on this thread said the exact same thing about Hawaii in '07.

There's not one ounce of history in the BCS playoffs or current playoff system that gives the AR/SPREAD passing
attack any type advantage...quite the opposite as a matter of fact.

Went ahead and watched a first pass of the Iowa State game (had only seen the tail end/highlights previously)... Was curious how they lost a game at home to a team with clearly less talent...

Few things I noted: A ton of their offensive success comes on first and second down. In third down situations, even with a god awful defense from Iowa State, it didn't seem like they were that good to the eye... decided to dig a little further and while they did manage 60% on third down in that game, Advanced stats have them as the #1 ranked team in S&P+ on first and second down... dropping back down to 32nd on third down... Keep in mind this is with one of the worst front sevens I've ever seen. If we are able to apply pressure, it's going to be interesting to see how they are able to manage. Mayfield has been great "under pressure" but going to watch some more of their games to see what that pressure looks like.

On a side note, I just noticed that Kyler Murray is Mayfields back up. Isn't he the kid that was at Texas A&M?

They have some OU dude trolling the main board... I honestly wonder if he realizes Lorenzo Carter is faster than most of the Dbacks OU has faced?

I have watched OU all year and went to the OU/Ok State game. I am very confident we will dominate this team. Baker is very good but turns the ball over. If we get up early and force them to turn the ball over a couple times we will win this game. Look for the dawgs to rip through their defensive front 7 like hot knife through butter. Plus, their secondary is fricking arse.
