Good for Auburn. The original looks ridiculous. No reason to make it worse.

"If the board had a real passion for this, I was fine with going forward," Leath said, according to the Opelika-Auburn News . "But the scoreboard's 20 years old. It doesn't really matter if it's 21 years old. It's not an emergency. It's not a crisis. If the consensus is you want to wait, we might as well."

People can talk shite on Jacobs for installing the mega board all they want. I love that fricking thing on gameday.
Here it to you Jay Jacobs. Thanks for the big screen

I like the old board. I wish they'd bring back the tigers with the noise meter too.
The jumbotron is meh.

Kinda like how some stadiums are putting multiple big screens throughout so everyone can have decent view.
Side note, whatever scoreboard Auburn has it will be loud, tough, and a crazy environment to play within. Their place, and "The Swamp" when the Gators are good, have to be the two toughest environments within SEC.

They were doing or trying to do this to appease the scholarship donors who sit on the current jumbotron side. They have to turn around to see it. They need a change but really should wait until the current renovation is finished first before starting another.

So basically Auburn's President once again fricked over the people who pay good money but have to sit under the mega board because they can't see shite.

Subtle. You'll get some bites.

Basically the President and the Board told JJ to come with a master plan, a vision for the stadium. He did not deliver. Why spend $6 million this year when it can wait one more year and be part of a master plan?

Good. We had a much better plan before, scrapped it, then this idea came up. Seemed rushed and very short term. The entire north endzone needs renovation. Adding a board now would seem to put that off for a long time.

You can go visit it at the soccer field. They moved it down there and use it for the soccer games.

The south endzone project is progressing nicely. I'll take some pictures later today and post them

Yep. The old plans looked awesome. This is the right response from the President. The new screen is a short term, expensive fix. Jacobs was told to have a master plan for stadium upgrades/renovations. He presents a screen. Shows his lack of vision (inject JJ vision meme). The north endzone needs to be completely renovated.

FWIW the old plan was scraped because of lack of enthusiasm from the people that were going to sit there. The current renovation took what they were needing most and placed it back in the south endzone. I am curious to see how the new reno does. I think it only allows for 600 people @ $1500 each and its a pregame area only. but does include a bar

It doesn't necessarily have to be that expansive, but something along those lines. That side of the stadium needs some renovations, period. What they are doing for the south endzone I thought was for recruits and their families?
