Or have they announced penalties already and I just missed it? Or, since The Rebels are now a steaming pile of shite anyway, does it matter what the NCAA does?

They changed their mascot to the Landsharks and the NCAA thought that was good enough.

the logistics behind filling Vaught with logs soaked in jet fuel got a little complicated because of hurricane season this year. Refineries in Houston had a little bump in the road... Should be any week now before the NCAA lights them on fire and burns the program to the ground.

We'll hear back from them again, in 2021.

Would anybody blame them if they did? Forgettable.

Standard COI timeline would suggest that the penalties get handed down in about three weeks- juuuuuust in time for the Egg Bowl.

timeline is 8-12 weeks

quote:

The committee deliberates in private to determine its findings and what penalties should be assessed. The committee’s report, prepared with the assistance of NCAA staff separate from enforcement, is released eight to 12 weeks after a hearing.

so we could be into December, but very well could be soon as well

UNC got off because they were able to prove that the course was available to every student, not just student athletes, so it wasn't impermissible.

I doubt that Ole Miss boosters offered $15,600 in cash to every student enrolled. I doubt that Cannon Motors allowed every student to drive rentals for extended lengths of time. I doubt every student at Ole Miss got $400 in free gear from Rebel Rags.

Ole Miss is gonna fry. They're gonna fry because:

1. They cheated
2. They cheated some more while they were under investigation
3. They mislead their own compliance staff
4. They did not demonstrate institutional control

I encourage you to read the NCAA response to their response to the NOA. Some language in there is especially harsh. Ole Miss is going to be hammered.

You're problem is that you're still listening to Chuck/Yancy/David.

Elite dawgs has had a standing bet for a month but no Reb has had the balls to take them up on it. The bet is simple: $2500 - they say the NCAA is gonna tack on another year of bowl bans. If you're so sure they won't, go bet with them if you have the balls.

If that's too rich for your blood, what's your terms?

The self-imposed bowl ineligibility and staff change prevented the necessity of expedited sanction. The sanction will probably be imposed before NSD since it is likely to include loss of scholarship, though those details may have already been worked out between Mississippi and enforcement.

Why are you attacking me? I don't post there. I'm just relaying the terms of the bet. Here's your chance once and for all to take down the morons at Elite Dawgs. Man up and place your bet. Or are you a pussy?

I take zero pleasure in the problems at Ole Miss. Hope they get off with minimal penalties.

The NCAA still has a few more escorts to "interview."
