This is kind of scary, but exciting at the same time.
No more wasted money.

No more wasted money.

It is exciting but there will always be something that needs to be fixed.??

Is it a new house, or previously owned?

I triggered the housing market collapse about 10 years ago by signing closing papers in November 2007. That market immediately tumbled. I lost 1/3 of the value of my new house almost immediately.
Oh, sorry I wandered off your topic.
Congratulations!

Congrats.
I’m on my third old house. Here’s some good advice: learn some basic home improvement skills and you’ll save some $$$.

Great advice, but know your limits. Half-assing a job will cost you way more in the long run. Don’t be afraid to “call a guy”.

This; especially if you have kids.
Congrats. It feels good to make payments on something you'll eventually own, unlike rent, where you're just making payments.

Congrats. It's fun and scary all at the same time.

That, too. Find a good handyman, also.

Congrats. Now go dig a pit in the back yard and start throwing money in it. Owning a home is like that. But at least you get to call it home.

Just wait until you sell your first house. Way more exciting. You really don’t know what you like and want until you buy your first place. In theory, you should have built up your assets and salary more, which should allow you to get exactly what you want next time around. Took three tries for me
3800 sqft to 2600 to.......932 sqft in the main House. But, we bought 100 acres and built it exactly as we wanted. My son is going to love high school living in the guest house.

My girl wants a house I don't. We live in a rented loft now. I like having the ability to get up and go.

Your girl is smart. Start building equity and assets early and often. I’m 29.

Meh. She probably right. But I like to move around. I've lived in 6 states in 13 years since being 21 but I do got a 2.0 now and I like it here.

It's about time slacker.
What's the square footage and how much did you mortgage, and how much did you put down, and what's your interest rate?
