Shut up. Some people just want their "dual threat" QB's to have two threats. Hurts isn't bad. He's a great runner and a mediocre passer. Some of our fans just can't be honest with themselves because they want a superstar QB to cheer for so they tell themselves Hurts is it.

So folks are against him because he's a minority, while they call to bring in a guy who's a minority?
Sorry, that's not it.

It's because we have a highly touted 5 star QB on the roster. It's unfair, but Bama fans demand perfection. I've seen them pick apart Hurts all season, he'll probably go down as the most under appreciated QB in the Saban era. As talented as Tua is, he's still a true freshman and we don't know how he will respond to adversity when the game is on the line. Jalen deserves the start, he's managed the offense pretty well and has all of the intangibles. But next year I think Tua wins the starting job. This offense may be suited better for him.

He isn't a great QB but Bama doesn't need a great QB. You outclass everyone else enough to get by with a solid QB who isn't risky. Thing is, I think Hurts could be really really good. But I don't expect him to get the development he needs at Bama, simply because you don't need him to be that QB.
He's far better than Sims. Sims literally looked at one predetermined WR and sometimes had a dump off man underneath.

63% Career passing is now mediocre...? Boy the bar keeps getting pushed further and further back. When he completed 4 straight passes and a TD in the 3rd qt Saturday the silence was blaring.. the kid can literally do no right.. This is just hilarious to watch. He has 1 int and he sucks lmbo

I think people just say he's a bad passer, not a bad QB.
Kid is a great runner and is a truck. And most importantly he just keeps winning.
I don't think people thought Tommie Frazier was a bad QB (extreme example, I know).

You know damn well that kid isn't going to sit in the pocket and throw dimes all night. They use him perfectly with situational passing, easier throws, and always a check down, which he is good at hitting.
Danny Etling has more yards, a higher QBR, higher yards/attempt, a similar compl % (60%), and the same TD/INT numbers (9/1).
No one is arguing he's a good passer of the football.

If you think stats is what makes a player great, then sure, carry on. There are circumstances and nuances to every stat. For example, I can complete near 100% of my POP passes.
And again, stop with the hyperbole. He's not bad. He's just a mediocre passer on a team full of 5 star players. He's good enough to win most, if not all games Bama will play. But, he's still a mediocre passer.

I like Hurts, but I've got to disagree here. The 63% passing isn't good considering the types of passes that we generally attempt. It is very obvious that Tua makes those same passes on time and more accurately than Hurts (ask #3!). Imo, the question is whether Hurts' experience outweighs Tua's superior passing skills....and that's a question that I'm sure Coach Saban has considered, and is continuing to consider. That's why he makes the big bucks!....thank God we've got an option!

I honestly cannot tell if this is a troll attempt or not. Completing 4 straight passes is his biggest achievement that you're using to brag on him about?

He is a modern day game manage. Doesn’t turn the ball over. Good leader. Extends plays with his legs. Some Bama fans are worried someone will make him pass. The later in the season it happens, the larger the barrier for making the playoffs. It is a legit concern.

Just like Clemson did to tOSU last year. Sold out to stop run and forced JT to beat them with his arm....

OSU couldn't run the ball, though. They had 88 yards and 3.8 YPC. And 0 pts.
Alabama, in a game 7 days later against the same Clemson defense, had 221 yards and 6.5 YPC. And 31 pts.
And our offense in total, including the run game, is better this year than it was last year.

He's not a bad QB, but not a really good one either. you don't need that when everyone else on your roster is talented.

He is a good college football player, he is not a good Qb. There is nothing wrong with that and that shouldnt offend you

False. Anybody with half a brain knows that Blake Sims is the second best Alabama QB over the last 20 years. He could be inconsistent and had his fair share of limitations but he was a much better QB than Hurts, Coker, McElroy, Wilson, etc..
