you have to understand that us holding out hope that we didn't make a colossal mistake in hiring O would have no more ground for hope to stand on. Losing both of our "top paid elite" coordinators in the same year would pretty much prove this concept has no chance. only silver lining would be a new hope that maybe our admin would finally have to make a change at the AD level and have that trickle down.

Alright here’s the scoop, which reiterates something Roger said yesterday.
Here’s my text conversation last night:
Me: Aranda?
Aranda is in play. Will know this week.
Me: playing us for a raise?
Hard to tell he contacted us. It’s a concern and I was worried about the same thing with Jimbo. But we are running a full court press and will pay. LSU isn’t going to go away though. It is 50/50
Me: wow

Not going to happen, but it would be the "11" hire that Liucci keeps referring to. I just don't see it unless things are simply that miserable at LSU. I'll go further. He contacted us, but the LSU boosters are ready to fire O today and hire him now instead.

If they do that, nobody worth a damn will want to work at LSU for the foreseeable future. The amount of impatience and backstabbing would scare away any up and comer within the coaching ranks.

Alright. Here’s what I heard.
Aranda is in fact the leading candidate. Followed by Brown, Bo Pelini, and Kevin Steele.
Tigerbaitlawyer said A&M is offering 2 million. I just heard the same thing.
I said last week I was told a name would surface by the weekend. Pretty clear that name is Aranda.

With all the talk, it sounded like the odds were a lot better than 50/50. I hope we don't end up looking like Lloyd Christmas on this one.

Meh, this is a lot different situation than jimbo. Aranda is probably not coming but that has nothing to do with us and everything to do with LSU telling him he will be the man in charge in a year or two
