So he was in a consensual affair with one player while sending texts of an inappropriate nature to other players? And now those girls are reporting sexual harassment?

The associate AD ordering evidence being deleted is going to be a big problem for Auburn.

Fagan said she had been troubled by Corey Myers' behavior since her first year on the team, when, after a ground ball fielding drill, "he smacked me on the butt. I looked at him and he said, 'What?' and I said, 'Don't do that.'"
I think Title IX kicks in at the exact moment when the coach's hand meets the player's arse.

Title 9 demands equality. Males get their arse slapped. Why is she special??!?!

You're right.....and unfortunately, these days, it doesn't make any difference regarding the sex of either/both parties.

I just read this (a little late I know), but this seems like some potentially heavy stuff.

Was he a lesbian at heart but trapped in a mans body?

I know Auburn folks defended Fagan to the end in the Fla post game interactions with the UF coaching staff. But personally, I would believe a word that comes out of her mouth.
Not saying she's lying, just that she appears a drama queen in a negative way.

Intentions aside, if that is true the AAD has ended her career for sure and opened Auburn up for a bigger Title IX issue than just what the coach and his son are accused of doing.

It's not the crime, it's the cover up. That has always been true. What did they know and when did they know it.
Corey Meyers broke University policy. He was gone. When and What did JJ know and how did he handle it.

Weird situation, the players shouldn't have those texts. AD probably was trying to protect the players not actually cover it up

She responded poorly, but that UF coach pulled a bitch too. Both parties clearly were in the wrong

That is why it is somewhat unfortunate for the Auburn softball players that she is the "face" of this problem and is the one who is outspoken about it. And this is why I said earlier "you know your situation is fricked up when Haley Fagan turns into a sympathetic figure".
This was the worst kept secret in softball. I follow LSU softball and go to a lot of games, even making an occasional road trip. This situation that has just publicly come to light in the last day has been discussed for MONTHS. It has come up in conversation with other LSU fans and with fans of other schools. And all of the discussions were spot on with most of what was in that article. It was common knowledge that Corey Myers was banging kids on the Auburn team and that he did the same when he and the old man were still at Arizona State. It was just a matter of time before the juicy specifics went public.

The part I don't get, and the part which might bite Auburn hardest in the arse when all is said and done, is why was Corey allowed back in the fall when he resigned/was fired/whatever the hell it was? If the other players "went to bat for Corey", like Clint supposedly told them to, it shouldn't have mattered. If it was known that Corey violated University policy, then he should have been gone. Period.
Apparently, according to the story, the players recanted their story so that Corey could stay. At that point, a responsible AD should have stepped in and gotten to the bottom of this deal. I don't see how Jacobs or Jenkins survive this.

I'm interested what you know about Corey at ASU. He obviously didn't magically turn into a POS at Auburn, and I've wondered if similar instances of misconduct led to his and eventually his fsthet's departure from ASU.

I don't "know" anything specific, because all of what I mentioned above was hearsay. But when you talk to different groups of people over time and their stories all match up, then you have to believe that there is something to it.
The impression that I get is that Corey was a philanderer at ASU and that it was an "open secret" there, too. And I also get the impression that the Myers boys (and old man) were allowed to slip off into the night and go to Auburn without much resistance. If they had stayed at ASU, all of this would have eventually come out there and it would have been their problem, and not Auburn's.
Again, all of this is hearsay...but it has pretty much been repeated through conversations with different groups of fans and on softball message boards since last September.
