Why do Auburn fans think Bo Jackson was a better running back than Herschel

I mean he was a better all around athlete, I will give you guys that, However experts say that Herschel is the number one college athlete over the past 50 years.

Probably because Herschel had like 300 more carries than Bo so maybe total yards isn't a great comparison.

I think Bo and Herschel needs to meet at the nearest Sonic, and have a UFC fight night to settle this once and for all.. Pay per view would be must see tv to SEC fans..

All Around Athlete to me means a player who excels playing multiple sports. Walker was a great College athlete and so to was Bo.
However Bo was the better All Around Athlete due to him excelling in both football and baseball at the professional level.

Because people watched them both play.
No doubt Herschel was the more productive back, and I'm way beyond caring too much who is the best college back, who is the better all time athlete, etc.
The answer to your question is that many, including but not limited to Auburn fans, see it with Bo ahead because they watched them both and Bo was the more jaw dropping player.

Bo 6'1" 220 ran a electronic timed 40 at 4.13, a few scouts had a hand timed 40 of 3.9

It's not so much who's a better running back. That is conjecture. And there are other guys who could make an argument beyond those two guys. Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden, et.al.
But they write books and make movies about Bo Jackson. He's the closest thing to a real life superhero this country has seen since Jim Thorpe. Herschel WAS Georgia Football when I was a kid and he is among the all-time greats, but Bo is like a Greek god who will live in folklore for all time. Herschel not so much.

There may never have been a debate that has gone on longer than this in the SEC. I've heard it ever since I was in college.

Bo Jackson is one of the greatest college running backs ever. Him vs. Herschel is definitely debatable. But as an all-around athlete it's not. Herschel Walker competed in the Olympic Games. Dabbled with mixed martial arts. Taekwondo. And of course he was a very good Sprinter. He's one of the best all-around athletes ever.

All I know is the "experts just voted ". And HW got every 1st place vote, all of them, as greatest player in college ever. It's really that simple.
