That's not how you spell Kevin O'Sullivan

Yep. Was literally just about to post this.
Not a bad hire, but I'd say it's underwhelming. Which sums up Ray Tanners AD career nicely.

So how is USCe a better spot than Florida again?

Nobody thought it would be Sully once the Gators got to the finals. Very few actually believed it before that even.
But I imagine this thread will be filled with "I told you so"s anyways

Because it is lol
The fact that many people even thought Sully to SC could happen should tell you all you need to know

Sully got to be the highest paid coach.
USC hired an up and comer.
BTW Kingston would have been a likely candidate if y'all hired Sully

Should be noted that this Dan guy is the only person to say this.
I'm sure Kingston is the guy, but nothing is official yet.

Yeah not saying it isn't him but nothing official yet. We will all know by tomorrow at the latest as the BOD is scheduled to meet regarding whoever it is contract.

Played college baseball at UNC, but otherwise has no ties to the Carolinas.

I'm not getting the static on a lot of boards about this hire.
Other than somehow hiring a guy who just won the CWS, he seems like an excellent choice.
Plus his little girls seem like they could get loud at the ball park.

He really fricked yall when he moved over to AD.

The BOT likes him because he's a good fundraiser. The fanbase is restless because our football team has nose dived, our baseball team tanked and we can't beat Clemson in jack shite.

A lot of people automatically think it is a bad hire because they've never heard of the guy. He seems like a good coach to me. Time will tell.

Really underwhelming hire, has made the NCAAT 3 times, but never advanced to supers. 2-6 in the NCAAT.

Too many casual fans bought into the idea that we could pull Monte or Sully. Those were HUGE reaches

Being reported more widespread now. Looks like Kingston will be the guy

Most think its a bad hire for a few reasons, chief among them really is that not only is he little known in general, but that his name was not in the list of the targets that Ray was thought to be going after.
Personally, my annoyance was at the perception factor. It was clear the coaches that we were interested in, none of those appear to be the final guy and we are just coming off the whole Football fiasco and who was interviewed and who wasn't. If either of these hires, or God forbid both, blows up, it could spell the end of AD Tanner.

The coach that just "resigned" had a worse record in the SEC tourney to be fair. This was legit his first win ever in Hoover this year I believe.
