I expected more from Texas.
I'll take Earl Campbell for $1000, Alex.
Also, how do these nerds make these lists with no linemen winning awards?
Anthony Munoz (the HoFer, not the Tennessee one) may be the best ever from California

These type lists are subjective and, really, useless. You could find 50 as good or better without much of an argument.

But Peyton Manning wasn't the best ever qb from Louisiana in college (or the pros), let alone best ever.
Lol

maybe in some states, but some have clear-cut, indisputable #1s. GA for example.

What about Ron Simmons?

Ding, ding, ding!
Sammy Baugh was well before everybody here's time, so he has that disadvantage. Vince would be a decent pick, but to me it is Earl and it isn't close.

It's Earl for sure, probably the most punishing running back and linebacker Texas high school football has ever seen.

Winslow's great, but I think Wehrli's the pick for MO. Winslow, while born in St. Louis, went to East St. Louis HS.
I think you could also have any as possibilities too:
James Wilder, Justin Smith, Russ Washington, Andy Russell, & Paul Christman.
Winstrom was outstanding, don't get me wrong, but every guy on this list trumps him.

Finally, something we can agree on.

Below Jerry we can have some great arguments, But that's where they will be argued - below Jerry Rice

Oh really?
Well, tell us who was first.

I mean they can argue Green, but that's weak reasoning. Clowney was also 2x First-Team All-SEC to go along with 2x All American and #1 pick in the draft...
