Who's happy with the season?

From talking to people prior to the season they were expecting a 5-7 season if we were lucky 6-7 or 7-6 in a shite bowl. Does this make this season a success for those people?

Chill98 is. I bet there's at least 2 others who will use the whole "we must keep Sumlin because he's never had a losing record" excuse as well.

Don't start this shite with calling people out. You're taking a simple disagreement a bit too far.

I believe I said 9 wins was most likely, with 10 wins being the next most likely, followed by 8 wins.
I would have been disappointed regardless with another 8-5 season, but the way we ended up here again made it all the more disheartening.
I don't think ANYONE is happy with the season. I think even the most ardent Sumlin defender would say that the season is a disappointment, but that Sumlin should be given the opportunity to get things moving forward in 2017.

I can't remember the last time I felt this bad about a season.
They built my hopes all up and then crushed them in spectacular fashion losing to the Mississippi schools.
My football spirit is extinguished

Yeah, this season brought me pretty low, too. The prospect of extremely feasible midseason redemption only for us to find ways to fail made it worse. Like Lucy snatching away the football.
I feel rather worn out by the whole affair.

Who were you talking to? Most of the message board fan predictions I remember were 8 or 9 wins, a few saying maybe 10. I don't remember anyone saying they'd be thrilled with those records either.

Because of Sumlin's and Chavis' contracts and how they're structured, WE HAVE NO CHOICE but to give him 2017.
Then, when he shits the bed again, his fat arse is fired.
What really needs to happen is that Jim Wilson needs to be kicked off of the Board of Regents and taken completely out of the equation.

If you are happy with 8-5, you are the problem with why A&M can't ever achieve success. Accepting mediocrity seems to be a specialty of some of our fan base.

Lol. Trevor doesn't get injured and we win 10 games this season and play in the sugar bowl. Things happen. I know what the solution is not though: going out and hiring a small conference coach with little head coaching experience and none of that experience resulting in anything extraordinary. That seems like a sure fire way to stay mediocre. Theres a coach on the market who has won multiple SEC titles and a national championship while sharing the conference with Saban and y'all think hiring Chad Morris is the answer. Laugh out loud

Good. So I'm not the only one on the Les Miles bandwagon.

Uh, we just lost a game with a healthy Trevor and Myles. Yalls excuse that we could've had a better season without them getting hurt doesn't hold water.
Yes things happen, like guaranteed second half season collapses under our current coach. It's three years in a row now. We haven't been relevant past October in a football season since 2012. Things like that happen.

You think KState is no better than Ole Miss and Miss St? Really?

I predicted 9 wins but felt worse after last season. We had a lot of talent gaps this year imo that we couldn't overcome. Last year it felt like every game was pure meltdown.

Did I say that? No. Maybe it was slightly implied but I never said that. There were a lot of people saying if we just had those two guys back we would have been a different team. Newsflash, our problems were a lot deeper than two players and we weren't nearly as good as we thought we were at the end of October. And people forget we were losing by quite a bit before Trevor got hurt in the miss st game.
At the end of the day, this season sucked and I'm just ready to put it behind us and move on. I won't be excited for next season because we will still have Sumlin at the helm.

We gave up 365 rushing yards to MSU. Knight's absence had nothing to do with that.
Ole Miss was missing their own starting QB when they played us, and ran out a true fish taking his first live college snaps. They then went on to get blown out by Vanderbilt in their next game.
"Things" have been "happening" ever since the 2012 season.

KState is better, but that's because they have a coach who actually would be worth top 10 money. Their talent level certainly should not be comparable to that of our roster.

Good. So I'm not the only one on the Les Miles bandwagon.
Les Miles is an "offensive-minded" coach who vastly under-performed his talent on offense. And he never exhibited a capacity to change/improve that.
