because it's not ok in today's world to have a different opinion nor is it ok to actually independently think for yourself. "1984" cometh and it's not the government leading the way it's the governed. you must think like them or you are vilified publically and people who don't know you can join in the vilification.

LSU is the only school in the SEC that can steal a national championship winning coach away from their school.

Easy there, Paw Paw, or they're going to move you over to the other board (also known as Hades).

(but, yes, I agree with you.)

There is no such thing as a "proven, experienced, high level, sure thing, elite coach" hire. Look at Texas (several times), look at A&M, etc.

I think Jimbo is a good steady coach, well organized, better fit for the SEC level competition than the Houston coach.

But I also think LSU should try for a young up-and-comer like they did with Saban. At least it wouldn't be a boring 9-3,8-4 record every year.

Jimbo Fisher would be as close to a homerun hire as LSU could get.

I haven't kept up with this but why would Jimbo leave FSU for LSU? To be in the SEC? Ties to LA (other than coaching previously at LSU)? Can LSU pay more?

Rumors but:

Tally has gotten stale for him.
Recently divorced and wants a change of scenery.

I think we have Dave Aranda involved in the process as much as possible. Including interviewed for the job. He is the truth. If we let him go to a no name school just to get his feet wet, The AD is an arse.

Is there another good hire? You Have Fisher, Orgeron and Herman right now. Herman seems the long shot. Orgeron, is not a bad choice. Other than Fisher who is a hire that has the record and list of accomplishments that is available?

If Jimbo is real possibility then Alleva needs to go for him with the house. He is deffinately not pleased with Kelly(DC) this year at FSU. I believe he would make a strong move to retain Arranda at LSU.

Take Fisher or Petrino. They are both legit. Don't want to play them unless it's in the playoffs. Perfect GIF, describes all sports fans.

Why is "with Winston" some negative qualifier.

Name a recent national championship winning team that didn't have an extremely talented QB?

Hint: les Miles and Nick Saban are the only 2

I'm on the coach O train baw!!!! He deserves a shot at HC, unless LSU can pull Saban away from Alabama. LSU's new coach really doesn't matter, unless Saban dies or retires.

I'll take Fisher ok but I would not touch Petrino with a ten ft pole. He has been able to get in the top level conversation but come end of the year he has never finished there.

Side note. I see posters for LSU and Bama expressing opinions whether Fisher could beat Saban. The playoffs has made that issue not a do or die proposition anymore for either team. If LSU or Bama can play undefeated with only the one loss to the other then it is possible for both teams to make the playoffs. This is a year that scenario could have happened if LSU had not dropped the Pre-Miles firing games.

How'd you forget the GT game? And the other 12 games FSU has barely won the last 2 seasons.

Jimbo is overrated as hell.

There's a difference in having a talented roster and having the most talented roster in the country...led by the 1st overall pick in the draft.

I'm not saying it was a fluke. And Jimbo is good. But he's pretty damn overrated IMO.

Not really. He's just one of the best available. They will be ok but not dancing in the streets.
