I've always heard the stories about Tiger Stadium being a rough place to visit for opposing fans. My son-in-law is from Lafayette and his family invited us down for the game. First, the food was off the charts incredible. You folks know how to tailgate. Four of us, dressed in Bama gear took a walk around campus. Sure there were some "Tiger Baits", but it was all in good fun. I've never been treated better at any SEC school. We were offered food and beers at many tailgates. Great experience and a beautiful campus! At the game was the loudest I have ever experienced. I could literally feel my ears ringing. That interception on Bama's first possession was clearly due to crowd noise. Hurts was very shook up. Anyone who says Tigers Stadium is not intimidating has never been or is just trolling. No problems after the game. Lots of "good game and beat Auburn" I left with a new found respect for LSU and your passion for the game. Good Luck against the pigs and gators. Sorry post is so long.

I find this account suspect as there are no mention of corn dogs or piss balloons...

Alabama are my favorite fans to host. The traveling fan base for yalls school is the most fun to tailgate with and the games are always a blast, even when we lose. Auburn fans should take note. Your fans are trashy as frick when they come to Tiger Stadium.

It was a phenomenal atmosphere. How fun was that, right? Not just the kind of environment attached to a random football game, but a cultural expression of joy and fellowship that is a giant statement about the people of South Louisiana. That is eseentially "who we are". We had friends in from FIJI (first American football game) and they were completely blown away and overwhelmed by our culture. This is all before we ever even went into the raucous steel drum that was Tiger Stadium. My body has still not recovered. I am very proud of what I experienced and saw on Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was truly special.

I'm glad you "got it" and I'm glad you had a great experience. Thanks for cutting though the message board ugliness.

No self respecting LSU fan wants Bama to win it all.

Generally speaking, I've shared your experiences. For all the shite that gets talked on message boards, I've found them to be incredibly hospitable. Never had a bad experience at Tiger Stadium. Wasn't able to make it this year, but looking forward to being able to get back in 2018.

Connor Shaw has said that when they visited there in 2012, it was so loud he had a hard time seeing because the clear shield in his helmet was vibrating....

This is true for the majority of cases, but sometimes it's because they didn't go to the right game. I've heard MSU, Southern miss, and A&M fans say that they didn't think it was that loud but that's because the crowd doesn't get nearly as hyped for those games. You have to go when bama, Florida, Auburn, or other high ranked opponents are in town to really see tiger stadium at its best

Glad you enjoyed your visit btw
