Jay Tate posted an update this morning basically saying the same thing that Hooks has been. Sounds like a deadline has been set for today. In Jays opinion (he says no facts, just a feeling) Bruce won't the coach for much longer.

If Bruce is actually let go and theres no hard evidence of him having any wrong doing I hope that every single player transfers out and no one attends single game. What a shite show Auburn's "leadership" is.

If we can Bruce who would we possibly get to come in and coach out the year? If I’m a player then I’m transferring out.

If we're just going to nuke our program, just go get Bucky McMillan from Mtn. Brook. Recruit like a mid-major and build the program back up. Get shooters and an athlete here or there and play solid fundamental basketball. I mean, we could get him for cheap and he's a solid coach. You don't get Mtn. Brook to three straight state titles without being a decent coach.

If Leath was annoyed at the emails he got yesturday about Pearl he really won't like what he gets if he goes through with this. Pearl will likely then get on TV and tell his side of the whole story which will likely not make us look good.

As I said, if AU leadership fired Bruce immediately after scandal broke I wouldn't like it but I wouldn't blame AU leadership. With Bruce's track record, I understand the argument that he must be held to a higher standard of compliance personally + monitoring his staff. "I didn't know about it" isn't a great excuse for a coach with a troubled history

My problem is that this clusterfrick situation is a direct result of abysmal Auburn Administrative leadership. It is extremely hard to pin down what they think they are protecting themselves against? The damage being done with this situation is as bad if not worse than any potential NCAA violations. FBI investigation doesn't seem to be targeting wider Auburn AD + University

Unless an unannounced extension took place, Pearl would earn roughly $1-1.5mil buyout per year through 2020. It is extremely difficult to imagine we are pulling this sh*t to save $4mil while Jay Jacobs is getting his payout w/ less support

Talking to a variety of people close to the situation who should know all of the details of the case, it is puzzling why Austin Wiley has not been cleared to play yet this season. I have been told that the holdup is on Auburn’s end, not with the NCAA or the SEC.

"Thank you for your note and Auburn would never suspend any employee “without reason” as you put it. You are correct that you do not have all the facts and it is inappropriate for me to discuss personnel matters publically. This is nationally embarrassing but we will work through it."

I just received that ^^ from Leath's email address

Leath seems like a hothead based on how his emails are worded.

I can't believe he is responding to emails at all. At least beyond some sort of automated answer.

I suppose it could be staffers under him but delegating that in light of this controversy would be troubling as well.

Agreed. The guys in the AD are really starting to try to distance themselves from him too. I've seen multiple posts from folks that always have inside information that put this completely in his lap. They don't want any part of it.

Don't think so. He was replying to emails Monday night after 10 PM. One poster on ITAT sent an email to Jimmy Rane and Leath sent an unsolicited email about his contacting board members.

Saying what exactly? Is this guy really trying to silence people expressing their concerns to the decision makers of an institution funded by their own tax dollars? Is it too soon to tell this guy to GTFO?

Well apparently he regularly took Iowa State planes on personal joyrides, so I don’t think he gives a damn what anyone thinks.

Looks like the emails, combined with it being a pretty big week for football, worked. Word is the decision to let him finish out the season has been put on hold until next week. Still pisses me off that apparently it is a when and not if question. All I know is Leath better have something solid or he is going to have to fight to hold onto his job as well.

1. I fully believe you received those responses from Dr Leath himself for multiple reasons.
2. As far as I know and I am speaking to folks involved daily the only issue is the staffs inability to do full interviews due to FBI case being open.
3. The staff offered to do full interviews once FBI was done. Head honcho said no.
4. The staff offered to do a mini interview with questions vetted by their attorneys. Head Honcho said yes and then later no.
5. Staff asked for clarification from NCAA regarding their pressure for AU to do interviews now as that is what Head Honcho said was the case. NCAA said we are not forcing AU to do this at this time. Head Honcho said I do not care.
6. Third deadline was issued which expires today for staff to go against their lawyers advice and their Garritty rights and do a full interview.
7. Last ditch efforts have been underway for this impasse to be solved. Result unknown.

These are the bullet points of what has gone on for the last 18 days.

As far as I know there are no reasons other than this interview deal that would cause AU Head Honcho to fire this staff. Seems Head Honcho has dug in and to me hasn't shown any willingness to solve. His way or highway.

Then when you mix in the two leaks which where half truths used to purposely harm CBP in the attempt to pressure him to cave you really feel sick to your stomach. Listen if the staff has done wrong then they should pay the price for their sins but that is not where we are. If the powers that be release real info that has been uncovered then I will be the first to say they where in the right all along but until then I will continue to call out what I see to be a horrible situation.

Lastly if the admin say the kids come first then as yourself why NONE OF THEM have spoken one word to the kids about what has been going on for the last almost 7 weeks. Its awful and a insight into their lack of real care.
