Yep, it was pretty shocking to hear that Florida out rebounded Bama by 20. TWENTY, and lost.
The unfortunate conclusion I have come to is that the SEC just really sux at basketball. Teams that are just average good just don't lose to teams who can't rebound, no inside game, not marquis players, lose the turnover margin etc. Maybe once in a while, but half the conference can't beat Alabama and I really don't know what I saw last night except that LSU is not as good as they should be.
I didn't see a great Alabama team. I didn't even see a good one. So, way to go AJ for getting his team to find a way to win. It is like he has a genie bottle or something.

I think so.

I am impressed with what Coach Avery has accomplished in his first season. I thought he would have UA looking good in season 2-3 since he didn't inherit a horrible team.
Good luck to him.
Good luck to him.

Yes.

Don't measure yourself against Fla, we are Jekyll and Hyde on offense.

I don't think the conference is as bad as a lot of people think. What happened last year with all those "bad" SEC teams in the tournament? Also, as has been stated, Bama has had a very tough OOC schedule and has done quite well in it.
This isn't a great Bama team, or a great conference. But, I think both are solid.

Agreed, but it is a team with some quality wins against:
Notre Dame
Clemson
Wichita State
Florida
LSU
Texas AM
South Carolina
All potential tournament teams.

This is where you showed your arse.

It's the style of play , if Bama gets you playing their style of game, ugly, slow perimeter shooting type of game they can hang with most teams and have shown a knack for finishing games that they probably had no business winning, basically if it's a poorly played game by both teams I like Bama's chances.

A&M had the best strategy to stop Retin with the double team but for whatever reason decided to stop doing it for most of the second half.

“My role on the Knickerbockers was to go in and disrupt the opposition, to throw off their rhythm, change the game. They called me a scrambler, and that’s where I got the idea for 'scrambled eggs’ at Marquette, a whole unit that would go in to change the rhythm of a game.”

Our styles of play are very similar. Both of us were bad match ups for LSU because they play so undisciplined and Jones is horrible at coaching. LSU is way more talented but they played right into our hands by taking bad shots and turning it over.

just to let you know how improbable this is the run of wins started with a desperation win over a bad State team and then a Texas A&M player with a 92% free throw percentage bricked both at the line with 3 seconds left to play
roll tide

Avery Johnson is a good coach. He got a bad rap in Dallas. He'll have Bama back to where they were in the late 80's early 90s.
I believe Whimp Sanderson had them in 6-8 straight sweet 16 appearances.

How the hell do you gameplan against these guys?...they can't rebound...there's no threat in the paint....they've got no "stop him and you win" player to contend with...they don't shoot free throws well...they constantly turn the ball over. They've got to be a nightmare to play until somebody figures them out.

That same player also took about 4 steps before making a three that kept A&M in the game a few seconds earlier. You win some and you lose some.
