I love playing LSU.
Win or lose, most times it is a good game to watch.
That being said, it is not as old a rivalry as the East teams we had to give up with expansion.
Even LSU fans probably do not like the fact it is a decade between home games v GA or Tenn.
Again, implying this thread is about fear of LSU is pretty laughable. I would argue playing Tenn/Fl every year is harder than just playing LSU.
And be honest, deep in your heart of hearts you would feel better knowing you could avoid the annual loss to Alabama.

Except that Auburn has winning records vs UT and UF, but a losing record vs LSU.
But we know that running away from LSU isn't the only reason Auburn fans want to move to the east, they want to get away from Arky (2-3 last 5) and State (1-3 last 4) as well as LSU, and add Vandy and KY.

Hell, I'm all for it....the only difference being, let the 2 teams with the best records within the entire conference play in the SECCG.

Serious question, is that allowed under NCAA rules?
I thought it had to be a winner from each division?
Or is that not the case or did it change when they modified things for the little 12?

I don't know, but it should be.

Yeah it would end the dreaded scenarios where a weaker division has one good game in the championship and then knocks the SEC out of the final four.
You would think a number 1 v number 2 SECCG would almost assure a spot in the final four every year.

It makes more sense to me to move Auburn to the east and leave Bama in the west.

Yeah but I do not think it would be fair to ask Alabama to give up either the TSIO or the Iron Bowl, and I do not see how you could preserve them unless maybe the iron bowl was scheduled as an OOC.

It would make obvious sense except the TSIO and Iron Bowl would go away

quote:Bingo!...plus the Ala/LSU 2012 natty would have never happened...would've been the SECCG. That way Alabama would have had another SEC championship to go along with their natty title.

Give us Georgia and you can have Florida. Gainesville is far as hell from Baton Rouge

Give up the DSOR?
Blasphemy.
This whole thread is speculative that the SEC adds teams anyway.
Simple solution to lack of crossover play is nine conference games, but I am sympathetic to FL, GA and SCAR. Of course most SEC schools are starting to schedule pretty good OOC games (well, at least one a season) and I would rather have another SEC game v whatever FCS team is bused in (lol particularly after THIS year)

I know I am not the only fan bothered that it seems like the East and West are almost different conferences, given how rarely we play.
fix that by making the conference smaller.

Lemme see
send us West
back closer to home and back to Texas recruiting territory
and avoid having to play Bama and Auburn while there
...

Well, that's really the big bugaboo right now. The number of scenarios that one can come up with to resolve the scheduling concerns is severely limited by having an odd number of teams in each division.

I'm sure LSU would LOVE it.

Another solution would be nine conference games.

Move Aubarn to the middle east.

I think he is right, but even if you could convince other schools, I see no way Fl, SCAR or GA would ever go for that.
I would also imagine Vandy and Kentucky would not be thrilled with it either.
I think it is the right move. I find the argument it would be too tough very similar to the argument used against an SEC Championship Game. Of course my vote counts for absolutely zero.

Why? Not knocking LSU but Arkansas and Ole Miss have both had success v LSU. Texas A&M will eventually right the ship. Miss State was a missed FG from winning this year.
My thinking as well.
