I don't think we'd have to worry about the football team going on strike.

They are not asking anyone to resign and mostly just want to establish an honest dialogue. It seems healthy to me

Bama is playing for a title and is the odds on favorite to win it all....plus most of our guys are NFL material with a number of them expected to be high draft picks. They aren't going to jeopardize that over this shite....Mizzou just plain sucks.

Good to know Saban is heading this crap off by talking to the team.

Don't have a problem with it as long as a kid whose family that is worth 20Mill doesn't stand up and say how oppressed he is, like the kid at Missouri and the dumb sheep fall for it.

I'm with you. This is harmless and there really should be a constant conversation about race anyways.

No need to polarize and politicize by talking shite about it.

What is the end game for this stuff? Not specifically the Mizzou situation or the Alabama video, just, all of this as a whole. I feel like people are attempting to create an atmosphere where EVERY instance of ANY perceived racism or hate or whatever...is met with instant expulsion. Like, they don't want any grey area. If you make someone feel uncomfortable, you are fricking done, no questions asked. I feel like these people won't stop until this is accomplished. If that's not what this is about, then...what the hell is it about?

The thing I don't like about this is these people fight their asses off to give certain people second chances. And many people deserve second chances. But they are only for second chances for black people. If you're white, and frick up(even if you haven't really done anything wrong), they want your fricking head. I don't get it.

I think it's just a result of people becoming less tolerant to racism. It's a bigger issue and is being addressed, but nothing like this ever changes smoothly or efficiently.

Same thing happened with Pedos. It's not like since the 90s there's been an explosion of pedophilia, but we hear about it a lot more because we have grown less tolerant to it. Used to people would sweep it under the rug, now they yell and scream (and hopefully make arrests) about it.

If Mizzou had done this a month ago, they wouldn't be in this situation. Whether you agree with a complaint or not, it needs to be addressed respectfully if one group feels strongly about it.

Smh.... Nice try at being clever.

Glad to see the university being proactive.

This. You constantly hear people say that we need to talk about race problems in America. Well this is exactly how you do that.

Every school in the SEC has one except us, and while that does not solve all of our problems, it will give us a firm foundation to build upon for the next five, 10, 20 years down the line.

"We can analyze those pieces of our past that have kept us divided for the last few decades, and honestly take them out of our community."

I'm sure he also knows who would be perfect to lead said useless department.

The thing that I don't understand is this:

What is it that they are not being allowed to do, or achieve? What about themselves are they not being able to express? Where does their "oppression" lie? I just do not see where the problem is. I think this is empty outrage. I respect everyone's opinion, and I respect these students' right to assemble and protest.

I just don't get it. And that's okay.

Exactly. Maybe it's my fault, but I can't figure out what the problem is...or what they want as a solution. It's like they purposefully keep everything vague, in order to keep people from being able to actually address whatever it is that they want addressed.

Seriously, what do they want?

They want exactly what they're getting. The spotlight.
