Liberals are not a minority in Columbia.

The racial power guys are a minority. Their ideological supporters in willing idiot liberals in campus administration are a majority at Mizzou, like almost every college and university in the country.

The funny thing about this is that the most dangerous place for a black person is around other blacks.

When white frats and sororities want to keep their group white-only, there's been a ton of support on this board for "Organizations should be able to admit or exclude whoever they want." Just saying that it's probably these same people who are outraged when white kids are excluded from something.
Full disclosure, I'm a white straight guy in my early 30s and I think this is all ridiculous.

This is a little different. When going through rush and 10% of the rushees get a bid and 1 of the 90% tries to say he/she didn't get again because she was black it a little ridiculous. There are other reasons besides color that they didn't make the cut. At Missouri there is no other reason to exclude whites except for their skin color. Can we now call them rascist?
I never went through rush so I don't have a dog in the fight.

No one's outraged that the whites weren't allowed to mentally masturbate with the omphaloskeptics at the Black Student Center. Everyone's pointing out the hypocrisy of a group begging for inclusion and diversity not practicing it themselves.

There is a distinct difference in a group claiming they want to be "equal" to other groups while also wanting to receive preferential treatment.
Organizations should be able to admit/exclude who they want, but if that's how you want it to be don't throw out the "we're not on equal footing" card when it doesn't go your way.

It's one thing to say who you want to invite into your house.
Quite another to cordone off public space and say only certain people are allowed within said *public* space.
My understanding is that this whole "safe space" thing started out with gay bars and clubs. Makes sense as they had good reason for fearing what would be said or done unto them in a space with lots of heteros were they to "be themselves" instead of being their often closeted public selves.
But now it's extended out to public spaces and every oppressed group under the sun.
Full disclosure: I belonged to an all white (okay, we had a Hispanic or two) fraternity at LSU. I don't have any problem with clubs, groups, fraternities picking and choosing who can belong. I guess that like Mardi Gras krewes they'll find a way to forcibly integrate them by saying they use public resources or find some other way to sanction or shame them into compliance.

Aren't these the same people with the black power fist on their shirts??? Um what do people expect. I noticed a black girl wearing the shirt in the Melissa Click video.

Yeah, that in a nutshell is the problem.
You can't clamor for inclusion and diversity while simultaneously providing great arguments (by example and otherwise) for why *more* segregation isn't such a bad thing after all.
Like segregation is somehow better when your motive isn't advocating white supremacy.

You're wrong!
Errrr, sorry it's a reflex.
The administration has been the most painful part to watch in all of this. They either believe in this now farcical cause, or are generally incompetent at administrating.
Hey Mr. Presiden Duke ruler of all the beasts in the wild, we're getting lots of complaints about racial incidents at the school.
Well let's have forum with professors from a number of social science disciplines, police, and myself hosting. Allow any student who wants to voice an opinion come. They'll debate amongst themselves and we'll moderate. Then we'll know the extent of the problem and have an idea where we can move to "fix" it.

These types of acts these ignorant and frustrated students are committing needs it's own term or word. They are demanding respect and equality, but not willing to give it. They are demanding free speech, but not willing to share it. They are demanding accountability but not ready to demonstrate it.
Can anyone thing of a good term or word for it?
Race Propagating?
Racepocrisy?
def
a.) The act of intentionally segregating one race, while slandering another, but demanding equality, fairness, free speech, and accountability from all other races.
b.) The act of voicing race related frustrations of inequality of one race, while blatantly criticizing and stereotyping another.
c.) Mizzou students
d.) to feel strongly and outspokenly about one's own race and the problems perceived with social injustice, but not give a shite about exhibiting those same behaviors on people from another race.

I don't agree with that.
If they were using a space to vent, more than likely everything they discussed was common knowledge.
I guess venting is ok just for the sake of venting, but it doesn't really solve any major problems.
