Bama, LSU, Florida

Without these three programs the SEC is nothing.

Auburn: got lighting in the bottle one year in recent memory, back to mediocre
Georgia: irrelevent on the national stage for decades
Tennessee: irelevent on the national stage for almost decades

Be careful about the Vols. They are the best team in the nation considering they've blown more leads than everyone else in the nation combined and are currently 2-3 in conference play.

The historical gap between 1 and 2 is much larger than between 3 and 4.

If anything, there's only ever been a Big 1.

Should the "BIGS" be only the teams with modern day hardware (BCS)?

Auburn has 2 SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS a BCSNC & a BCSNC game appearance. Since 2010 UF has none, Bama has 2, and LSU only has 1 SEC championships

the only team you can make a genuine argument for kicking out is UGA due to lack of recent success.

will see how they turn it around with their post-richt coach.

LSU has managed to have the perception of being elite by riding Bama's coat tails. They have not won a major Bowl since 2007 season. Same as UGA.

1 SECW title since then.
1 SEC title since then.

Auburn has done more in that time frame and nobody considers them elite. LSU is basically UGA, but UGA didn't get a natty for their 2 loss season in 07 and UGA lost the the 2012 SECG where LSU won in 2011. That's really the only difference between those two programs.

What has LSU done? A split title and a 2 loss championship doesn't scream caring anything.

It's always been a big 3. The 3 teams just change over time

In the 1970s, it was Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. In the 1990s, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama. Early 2000s: LSU, Tennessee, Florida. Etc.

You do realize that Auburn has the same number of SEC championships as LSU since Saban brought yall from the desert?

In that timeframe Auburn has 2 undefeated seasons while LSU backdoored its way to a 2 loss BCSNC.

So because LSU is lucky, you should not discount others actually on the field accomplishments. Remind me again when was last time LSU when undefeated?

Become?

It's been the Big 3 since we started championship games- Auburn, Tennessee and UGA have less title combined in that time than Florida or Alabama have individually and as many as LSU.
