Bama will have a safety in the box. It's inevitable and needed.
Perhaps but my guess is less times than not.
Bama is built to stop the run without cheating a safety up, which is a huge advantage if you can do it...so I think they actually will not put 8 in the box vs LF7 initially. I do think Fournette will force them to start cheating that extra body up though.

I am literally praying Bama sells out on stopping the run.
Not praying for it because I KNOW they're gonna try it. And they'll pay for it with a long one to Dural/Dupree that takes it to the house. We don't have a passing problem. Cam was just bringing Harris along slowly and we had no need to do otherwise. He's prepared for this game and chomping at the bit to get cut loose and shut up all the people that believe he's not a passer.
Our weaknesses right now are Special Teams. Secondary blowing coverage. And that's really about it. And like the gump said, if we get in Coker's face, that secondary problem goes away. And Orgeron's got our DL nice and nasty and hungry for QBs again. If their OL screws up at all, Coker's gonna get stomped.
I think this game will hang on the turnovers and our QB is exceptionally good at not creating those and Adams has been ramping up his Honey Badger impression. It's all been developing towards peaking with this game. I think they're there. We'll find out.
Lets just hope that however it goes they all get out of it healthy. We know it's gonna be a war. Same as every year.

LSU is assuming we will cheat a safety, that has yet to happen or be proven. Our base package will tell the tale. If we do well enough we will play two high safeties all night. IMO a lot is being driven by this so called fact. If LSU OL beats our front 7 then the answer is clear but to assume you automatically beat one of the best front 7's in CFB is absurd. If we can jam up the middle and slow down LF that could even this out nicely. Let's wait and see.

Its just as absurd to assume one of the best o-lines and running backs in college football is just going to get shut down.

Well he threw out national stats so what's y'all national stats in rushing? I'm pretty sure it's ugly and y'all have zero rush attack.
Every analyst has said Harris is the second best QB in the conference and you guys are going to see just how good we are throwing a football. I'll bet anyone that no one will stop this offense this year no one.

Getting too conservative with a lead. I understand the reason for it but I think it could hurt us if we get a lead in this game, and completely throw the pass game out the window. This could cause plenty 3 and outs and out pressure on our defense. Kinda what happened in the Florida game.
I think that CLM has only been conservative in one game this year by choice. (Mississippi State) I think that he was forced to play conservative vs Syracuse and USC due to drops

Stop it already-Bama will figure out a way to win this game. LSu will dominate for 55 minutes but figure out a way to blow it in the last 5 !!!

No it isn't, because LSU's run game is built on shifting blockers so that we have every defender blocked at the point of attack. That means we don't necessarily block the entire front seven, but we will have one more guy than you in the hole while you have a defender out of position.

Alabama:
O-line play and consistency. This includes the amount of penalties given up, sacks given up, and ability to protect RBs from being tackled behind the line. It switches from series to series though.
FG kicking
Turnovers. Both fumbles and interceptions have plagued Alabama this year.
LSU
Special Teams Coverage. Pretty damn terrible.
Secondary coverage. Shaky at best. LSU gives up at least 20 in each game. Even games when the offense of the other team is less than superior. LSU is lacking a true shut down defense they've had in the past.
Red Zone Defense. Worst in the conference.
Basically, it's all a wash, with LSU having the better overall offensive numbers, and Bama having the better defensive stats. Both teams can still play good defense, and both teams can still move the ball downfield however. So it is likely to come down to which team can work through their own weaknesses and unlikely to be determined by their strengths (LSUs run game, Bama's D, etc.).

The good news is you can put your two safeties deep and your secondary will never be tested. See Tennessee. Stopping Alabama's rushing attack is game over.

Coker had maybe his best game of the season against Tennessee.

Having watched a few Bama games (not entire games though) and watching LSU....my .03 worth: LSUs OL is pretty damn good and kept B. Harris protected for the most part. If Harris has the time then he will kill Bama as most QBs would if given enough time.
Of course Fournette is a runaway beer truck and he will get his. You just want to keep him in front of you at all times. UF did a good job of not allowing explosive plays by him.
The LSU passing game is ok...nothing special...but they did get us a few times because we were so concern with stopping LF.
Bama has very good DL and will try to throttle LSUs run game and make them throw. Bamas LBs are good. The secondary is good...not great. LSU will try to get third and short downs to prevent pass rushes.
Bama on offense is where LSU will try to expose them..I am inclined to believe LSUs DL is almost as good as Bamas & UFs DLs. If they are able to stop Henry a lot, then Coker will have to throw more than Saban wants. Kiffin will plan on pounding LSU with Henry and subbing enough to keep legs fresh....dont know if Drake is injured, but he is needed. The constant runs with Henry will of course set up the deep ball....Bama is sneaky and loves to throw deep when teams are having hard time stopping Henry. Both teams are ok on special teams but Bama might be better at coverage of kicks and punts.
The home field is huge...but in a rivalry game like this for the all the marbles....home field is offset some. I hope to see a lot of the game after we play early game against Vandy.

I didn't say that, I think it's safe to assume neither side knows who will win the battle.

Well Ole Miss is 1st in passing but 7th in rushing in the conference. I guess the dominant passing game didn't hurt our rushing game much...???
How many losses does Ole Miss have and who were they again?

Can't really count that, but good point. State was in a prevent defense. I can nickel and dime that all game long.
You missed the question? In his scenario it would be down late in the game when everyone knows you have to throw. Most teams in that scenario are going to be in some form of prevent defense. It definitely applies.

Alabama has a shite offense with essentially zero ability to protect their QB. That's really their biggest weakness, imo.
Yet Bama still owned that arse a week ago and has been doing so for almost a DECADE!!! Let dat shite sink in...

LSU passing game is #116 out of 127. Stop the run, win the game...that first part isn't easy to do though lol
You clearly haven't watched lsu this year. Brandon Harris is 2nd in the sec in qb rating, 3rd in yards per attempt and a td/int ratio of 9 / 0. Get a grip on reality.
