During the A&M game I saw the stat were 26 opponents had bye weeks before playing Bama and no one else had more than 10. This past week Tenn made it 27. All this while Alabama has had one of the impressive runs in football. Will this be a forgotten stat or does it add to the accomplishments of what Saban has done at Alabama? Why hasnt anyone else had to deal with what Alabama has in terms of opponents off bye weeks?

UTk has been an extra bye week for Bama for the past decade.

Who does Alabama normally schedule their bye in front of?

Ole Miss didn't have a bye week before we played Bama for the last 2 years

Blame your scheduling department. They must suck. Sorry your people suck.

Gives REC more time to sabotage opposing teams game plans with spies and shite. Saban ordered it personally despite the protests of the LSU athletic dept

You realize that WHO you play is a little bit more important than when you play them? Do you want to take a look at Alabama's cross-divisional schedule?

Are there actually any stats that show teams coming off a bye week have an advantage?
Seems like a bye week could actually kill the momentum of a team that's on a roll.
Not that UT is on a roll, mind you.

Teams need the extra week to prepare for the refs.

This fact has just destroyed bama in the win-loss column

Yes, bama deserves some credit for constantly facing teams off of by weeks.
However, that is more than offset by bama playing a weaker SEC schedule than most for decades.
And of course teams schedule bye weeks before bama because bama has been the top team in the SEC on average for a while now. IMO, teams should schedule a bye after bama though except for LSU. Most of those teams don't have a very good shot of beating bama and it just turns into two losses after they get so hyped up then beat up by bama.

The bye weeks for Alabama's opponents is just to sort of make the game fair what with Alabama's superior players and coaches.

not using your bye before playing a consistent powerhouse isn't smart.
The goal is to win the game.

arkansas had a bye after bama not before so I know that is incorrect.

Bye weeks can be helpful for the teams to heal up but I don't think it holds as much of an advantage as most people think. Alot of teams come out looking flat.
