We lost a great Ag last week

Hans Betten, class of '96, passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack last Friday. He was well known among those who frequented NG in the 90s and 2000s as he was a manager at the Chicken for years and part owner for a time of several bars including Shotzi's. He was big into Bonfire even many years after graduating and when it moved off campus and this is how I met him when I was in school. Probably the most redass dude I've ever met.
He was an awesome guy loved by everyone and it's shocking because he was in perfect shape. Worked out almost every day and was built like a brick house. He has a four year old son who I just feel terrible for.

I also use this as an opportunity to tell everyone to always make sure you take heart symptoms seriously. Several of his close friends have said he had been having chest pain for a few weeks but blew it off as muscle pain because he was so healthy and in his early 40s.
You're never too young to have a heart attack. Get yourself checked.

Sorry to hear. I remember him from the Chicken and always heard good things. Was actually wondering about him and Corey recently after Shotzi's had closed.
