To continue the hijack: In truth, the only reason I rarely say the word is because....I just don't sound cool saying it

"Most examinations of witness testimony state that Bernall was not asked anything before she was shot.[5][6][7][8] According to witness Emily Wyant, who was hiding under the same table as Bernall, Eric Harris said "peek-a-boo" before shooting Cassie, while Cassie continued to pray silently."

We'll see here, but it didn't happen at Columbine.

Didn't they shoot more than one person?

I mean, it doesn't make a difference either way, obviously.

Yeah, they said that the conversation could have happened to two different girls -- but the witness testimony from one said "peek-a-boo" and with Klebold they shot her in the cafeteria, and they don't have any footage of there ever being a conversation there.

Either way, pretty fricking heinous.

And I agree with the poster above that was commenting on the sad state of affairs it is that folks are starting to become numb to such tragedies. And not through any fault of our own.

Actually never heard your podcast.

I wished folks would just calm their shite on these types of things and realize that freedom ain't free. Bad shite is gonna happen with freedom. Not to say it isn't a tragedy and we shouldn't try to minimize, but we have over 340 million people in this country and 12,562 deaths from guns last yr.

For perspective.. that's a percentage of .00003% deaths by firearms.

And if you wanna go by firearms in the hands of citizens to deaths by firearms.. the estimate as of 2009 was 310 million. From 2010 to date there have been background checks on well over 100 million more. So conservatively, 425 million firearms vs deaths... a percentage of .00002%.

JUST IN: Umpqua Community College shooter ID'd as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer, law enforcement sources confirm to CBS News.

Mercer's old Myspace page

Click on his myspace "Connections" and there's 2 people. 1 is Mahmoud Ali Ehsani. Click on Ehsani's photos and 1 of the 6 photos is the Quaran. Also, click on Ehsani's "mixes" and there's references to Mujahideen which means to be engaged in jihad.

It's those "Old Army FightCast" links on the A&M Board. But you're probably doing your eardrums a favor by not listening to my yammering, tbh

Since Obama has been in office there seems to be a tragic mass shooting every month. Sketchy.

People target colleges because they know there will be alot of unarmed people all together, trapped in little rooms. They really need to stop reporting the names of the people that do this kind of thing, just refer to them "the little-dicked cowardly bitch" in every report

Very much agree with this. The number one motivation for this generation is fame as opposed to money from the generation before them. This anti-hero bullshite and constant news coverage helps to fuel these shootings. Not the sole cause, but it certainly doesn't help.

Perhaps a bad comparison, but when sports decided to stop showing streakers and the like on TV, those incidents went down dramatically.

Mine has always capitalized "Christian." What are you talking about? Pretty much all phone OSs these days capitalize proper nouns and common names.

Most don't.

Most intentionally do not capitalize "christian" but they will autocorrect "Muslim."

Anyways .... the shooter today, his Facebook and MySpace pages both show friendships with radical Muslims along with quoting versus from the Koran.

And here is what he wrote on 4Chan last night before the shooting:

I was just at a shooting range in Alpine this morning, and while I totally support the right to bear arms, love shooting guns, and think a firearm should absolutely be used in self defense... something needs to be done. If anyone thinks the status quo is the best case scenario and just the necessary consequence of our free society, I think they are sorely mistaken.
