I think the biggest difference between the B1G and SEC are those middle and bottom teams though. Look at SEC West schedules. There are no 4 game stretches vs. Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, and Rutgers. You're playing 4 weeks in a row at Texas A&M, vs. Auburn, at Ole Miss, vs. LSU, etc. Multiple games in a row against big, athletic teams in front of large, fired up crowds. I don't think there is any doubt Ohio St. has the advantage of being fresher come bowl season. SEC teams, especially west, get beaten up pretty badly throughout the season.

The Big 10 could legitimately lose every single game there.

We already found out the strength of the top of the conference the last two weeks.

Michigan State defeated Oregon. Ohio State gives nobody any reason not to vote them number one right now.

I'm actually intrigued by the Illinois game. NW will probably be favored (not sure who is left at Duke)

Michigan will get there with Harbaugh.
Here is the problem. People are already giving the B1G credit for Harbaugh just being there. Michigan is not good. Sorry, but it is true.

It's just another case of ESPN trying to fabricate news instead of reporting it.

The problem isn't the title. It's the article.

Meanwhile, the SEC East already looks like it's still the same old spaghetti pile it has been for the past decade.

In 2013, both South Carolina and Missouri finished in the top 5 in the polls. In 2012, 3 East teams finished in the top 9 (SC, UGA and UF). If the East was the B1G, I guess they could've got an article written about them in 2014 saying how awesome they were.

Harbaugh has done more in two games for Michigan than Hoke did all of his time at Michigan past his first season there.

What is that? He is creating an identity and will recruit to it.

Smart QB play, smash mouth football, strong defense, and dominate at the LOS.

Same thing that LSU use to do (and still try to do), but with better coaching and better future QB play.

Well the SEC certainly hasn't done itself any favors going back to bowl season last year, then having the Vegas league favorite nearly lose to Jacksonville St. Oh yeah, that whole Toledo thing.

It's obvious Michigan State and Ohio State are good.

But to judge the power of the conferences you have to see nonconference records.

This is why I think we should mandate that all P5 conferences play their schedule and have 4 nonconference games with other P5 teams. It's the only way we can get a better numerical and statistical representation of who should be in the playoffs.

I know it's not fair to the smaller teams and it's obvious they can win on any Saturday, but there are just too many teams in college football and those teams are getting better. There are only 4 spots. We have to start getting it more right.

FWIW, I'm still on the SEC>B1G train. Especially because of PSU looking so mediocre. Michigan will IMO improve quite a bit as the season progresses, but as of now aren't overly good. And I do personally see Sparty as slightly overrated, but at the same time a team who could trip us up, so maybe not. Wisconsin has honestly looked better than I thought they would, but again, not top tier. Minnesota also surprised me with the TCU game, but I'm intrigued to see if they can sustain that defense.

This is nonsense. Every team wants better future QB play. Michigan's QB is currently throwing an average of 2 picks a game.

How many DIFFERENT SEC teams won titles in the BCS era? Big ten has one and only two teams that are remotely capable of winning one. Big 12 has a better argument.

Oregon St. is not a good team. They were leading Weber St. the week before 13-7 in the 4th. Weber St. was blown out by N. Dakota St. Saturday. They won't make a Bowl this year. 1st year Coach from Wisky doesn't have the players to play his game. Harbaugh's a good coach. We'll see what he does against BYU in 2 weeks. The program he built at Stanford is being dismantled by Shaw.
