Two Jack Cristil gems:
Jim Ellis," Now we'll have theSonic Drive of the Game". Jack says,"the drive of the game? Well, it's my drive back to Tupelo". This was after another masterful performance by Sly and Woody's Gulf Coast offense.
The other was his description of a Chris Relf pass in the 2008 45-0 drubbing by Ole Miss. Now, Chris had a rifle, but his sights were a little off." A beautiful deep pass by Relf. It was a beautiful pass. Now, it wasn't within 20 yards of a receiver, but a beautiful pass". Listening to the call you thought it was a completed deep bomb until the latter part.

Hobnail Boot is objectively the winner of this award.
The first time I heard it I died laughing and then started crying.

There were a few guys who lasted into the late 90's, early/mid '00's who perfected their craft in the 40's & 50's... Cristil, John Ward, Larry Munson, Al Ciraldo @ GT etc...
Hell Munson called Vandy games from '52 till '65...
Imma sure there are others I'm missing but Fyffe-AU '81-'03 etc were great...
Bless 'em all, Imma old guy who only got to hear the games in the 60's/70's/80's when there was 1 SEC game at the most on TV. You just closed your eyes & they took you there...

This is easy. Burke Masters' 9th inning grand slam v. FSU in 1990 that sent us to Omaha.
LINK
Burke was a 4.0 math major, went to Vanderbilt for actuarial stuff but is now a Catholic priest - in Chicago I believe. It says Super Regional but that wasn't in play in 1990

To be fair it's not like there's a huge pool to pick from in terms of Alabama Sportscasters

This. Great play but horrible radio call - just a bunch of screaming and hollering.

Halloween classic punt return by billy cannon. Still get goosebumps every time. Crowd got so loud you couldnt even hear the radio announcer for a period of the call.

I wish I'd gotten a nickel for every time he said "Dallas Baker the touchdown maker." I might not be rich but I'd have a helluva lot of nickels.

Nobody has said the '85 Iron Bowl????!!!!
The snap. The kick. It is in the air; it has distance......ITS GOOOOOOOOD! (It's good) IT'S GOOOOOD! (It's good) Alabama has beaten Auburn! Van Tiffin has kicked a 52 yard FG! And the state of Alabama...is Crimson!
Haven't heard that call in years that's just what I remember off the top of my head. Could be wrong on some of it.

SEC history - Hobnail Boot
The best call in the history of sports has to be the Holy Roller by Kenny Stabler Vs the Chargers in the late 70's that Dave Casper recovered in the endzone as time expired. That or Cal-Stanford.
