Just drove through a few hours ago and you Gumps should be ashamed of the crappy interstate roads through Tuscaloosa. Actually all the way from Mississippi state line to Birmingham is horrible. Stop building statues and stadium renovations and spend some damn money on roads

State line to Mobile on 98 is a DIEway.

I was pretty sure the athletic department funds were comingled with the department of transportation funds, thanks for the confirmation.

They'll probably get a bunch of money from the federal government to fix their roads, and then turn around and bitch about big gub'ment.

UAB football drained all the money for roads.

It's what happens when you have states run by republicans.
They don't give a frick about infrastructure.
They don't give a frick about infrastructure.

Yeah, because Birmingham is run by Republicans. (to those of you that don't know, it's totally run by democrats and they have bankrupt Jefferson County and have no DAMN clue what they're doing.) Not to mention the shining gems of Detroit, all of California, and any other hyper democrat-run state institutions.

One day all you silly media blinded libs will wake up... and unfortunately for the rest of us, far too late.
As to the OP... the construction leading from Columbus to Tuscaloosa and the construction between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham ARE money being spent on the roads.

Our road system in Mississippi is light years ahead of Alabama except for city streets in Jackson

links?
i mean, i don't really care btw about the OP topic one way or another. just curious if you have any linkables to provide substance to this claim. i've driven all over the roads in mississippi as well on a recent scouting trip for our company. they're horrid, and it was several hundred miles I ran on.

Highway 98, 45 and I-20 East. All roads smooth as glass till you get to the Alabama state line then they turn into wagon trails.

i mean, i was never trying to contend that they were perfect or even above average roadways compared to the rest of the nation. but as far as major state highways and interstates in alabama go, i don't notice a major difference compared to other places. idk, i may be blind to it? still, if it's just your experience running between a few places, yeah... there are a few slow and a few road work areas that suck right now.
also, i've had my truck for 160k miles. i've had it realigned once. and i take a weekly trip to columbus. my tires? i'm on my 3rd set and no uneven wear on any of the three sets. so, maybe your car was having issues before and you hit a pothole too hard?

True. Headed to the beach tomorrow and the worst part of the trip is 45 to 158. I mean, how hard is it to four lane that stretch?

Are you really to the "frick you" point because you're passionate about good ole Mississippi roadways? I mean, do you lay asphalt for living or something? jeez and lol and pity for you for living with such rage!
