last I checked there was less than a points difference between the average ACT scores of the freshman class at UA and AU. You guys can be proud of being small without trying to throw shade at Alabama, you kno
Its more than a point difference. I already posted the numbers.
But I do agree with your point. Auburn's thing is being a small college town. If we pushed for a huge enrollment, I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Exactly. But for whatever reason, people don't want to count it as part of Ole Miss

I'm indifferent. You've got to like how it's given Alabama a lot more money to invest in new facilities and facility upgrades. LSU has a gorgeous campus, but that doesn't mean we have substantial needs to infrastructure and facility improvements. Plus I think it expands LSU's reach and network

If you are using the payscale data that is self reported. Probably skews fairly higher than actual numbers.

LSU is sitting on the edge of bankruptcy, and you guys have the nerve to question how UA is being managed? Please

Regardless of Auburn people trying to find a random stat saying Alabama accepts anyone with a pulse, the fact is that the Fall 2014 freshmen class had an average ACT score of 26.1 which is very respectable and the highest in UA history. I know Auburn's is very impressive and even a little higher so I'm not sure why Auburn people have such a hard on about trying to convince everyone that Alabama is a sh#### school by comparison.

I think TOPS does a lot of the ground work for LSU anyways. Lots of students, like myself, could have and wanted to go out of state, but it would be impractical to pay out of state for a degree of equal of less value than what I'm getting at LSU. I don't think increasing OOS by 10% or so would be a horrible strategic move. Plus a lot of LSU alums-prominent ones at that-go out of state due to the lack of white collar jobs

So I guess your own fricking president coming out and saying he is writing up the bankruptcy filings right now was a big fricking ploy? Face it. Y'all are poor as frick.

LSU is more concerned about
1) growing our graduate/research numbers
2) improving/diversifying undergraduate students (state/ethnicity/etc)
3) growing undergraduate numbers
Current freshmen ACT is a 26

quote:While UA gives $$ to some OOS students, a very large percentage don't receive $$ - they are paying OOS tuition/fee's at a pretty high clip.
A $1,000 check from St Louis cashes the exact same as a $1,000 check from Mobile.
Your OOS numbers are ridiculous for an flagship university. What happens when the bubble bursts and UA stops giving all this money away to OOS students?
When a kid from Cali/NY/Texas/Conn compares their in-state tuition costs to Bama's OOS tuition they are seeing a sizable discount, almost half of what they'd be paying if those kids stayed home and went to school.
I think it's a balancing act. UA gives $$ to some OOS students, while they are getting the attention of many OOS students and their parents - when those parents start comparing costs to in-state vs OOS at UA, they seriously consider UA. UA's marketing campaign out of state has grown tremendously.

In what way am I wrong? Did your president not come out and say y'all are drafting up the bankruptcy filings?
