I agree. I'm not going to pile on, but he took an unnecessary risk and it blew up in his face. He could have showed some contrition and made a stand and then moved on. Instead, he doubled down and guaranteed the questions and examination of his decision continue.

Wow, how is Geno still on the team?
Safety depth chart is weak. He could test positive for X, murder 3 hookers, and bust a load in Mrs. Sabans mouth and he would still be on the team.

2) How on Earth is Geno Smith still on the team after another DUI?

To be fair, he was drunk as shite when he got arrested the first time. At least drunk enough to plow into a gas pump at a gas station in his new Camaro... Best friend is a regional guy for Chevron. I got to watch the security footage. It was epic

shite, I'm not even going to sugarcoat it by calling it a risk. It was reckless endangerment of the student population and the reputation of the football program and University at large. I'm not going to lay it solely at the feet of Saban as others at the University had to sign off on Taylor's admission as well, but let's call it what it is. The guy hadn't even appeared before a court on his first charge of closed-fist hitting his girlfriend and choking her to the point that she had strangulation marks on her neck before he was admitted into the University of Alabama. This wasn't "boys will be boys" or "wrong place at the wrong time." THOSE are second chance worthy. This was a straight up violent act against someone close to him. The guy needs help but the University of Alabama is in no position to offer him that help, let alone rewarding him with the privileges of a full scholarship and the aplomb that comes with wearing a Bama jersey. And the motivations for why they did it are so clear that they should honestly just fess up to the fact that he was admitted because he looked like a good prospect worthy of gambling student welfare on. Credit to the Bama fans that derided the decision from the outset of his signing, but the Bama administration deserves to eat every bit of the shite being flung at them from all angles.

My favorite line is how he thinks Taylor is a "good person"

Yeah. That was my tipping point for the presser. A dude who hits a woman, not once, but twice, is the opposite of a good person. He's a bad person.

From reading the threads about it........it's obvious saban doesn't care what bama fans think either.

I honestly don't care too much. This will be a minor blip that gets tossed around by rivals and forgotten by most others in a month or less.

Alabama media is afraid of Saban. So he's a "little" disappointed in Geno Smith. If he had killed somebody drunk driving would that warrant a "big" disappointment?
Posted on 3/30/15 at 7:55 pm to MrAUTigers
Listen to Saban's press conference today. He basically compares 2 DUI's to 2 positive tests of weed and thus thinks no way he should be kicked off.
