Only because Mississippi State plays Alabama and Ole MIss on the road.

They should be after slaughtering a well respected Texas A&M team.

I still think UGA has the easier path, but Bama's is pretty good. Bama probably wins if they get in the playoff, and I'd be more confident on that than if UGA/MSU/Ole Miss got in. I think Auburn would fare well in the playoff, but we'll need to get to UGA unscathed before I really start to think it's a possibility.

A big part of this is schedule. Auburn has a really tough one, both MS schools have very tough ones. Bama could possibly win out and not have to play in the SECG to get into the playoff as well.

MSU started the season unranked.
Works for me

We've become the ultimate kingmakers this year

UT will squash this talk on Saturday.

Bama was 5/1 at the beginning of the season.

Alabama has zero case to get into the playoff as an at large given how weak their schedule is. Ole Miss is the only top 20 team they play as a true road game as things stand right now and they lost that game

-large numbers of bama betters
-just destroyed a team even more substantially than ole miss and miss st did
-favorable remaining schedule
-member of only division/conference with chance at 2 loss playoff rep
-really good team
-strong history of making it to title despite losses
-refs
6/1 still buyer odds imo

Would have to be 2007 on steroids for any 2-loss team to get in

what non SEC team do you foresee suffering two losses and making it to playoff?
hence my use of the qualifier "chance"

I can see why. It takes like 5 losses to vanquish them from the top 5.

nevermind. i thought you were saying bama was the only sec west team that could have 2 losses and make the playoff.
