I was 15 and my little brother was 13 when we rushed the field for that 01 Auburn game. Robert Royal picked my little bro up and carried him around in one arm while puffing on a stogey It was an awesome experience.

Missouri rushed the field after that shitty win over TaMU last year?

Probably had something to do with securing a trip to the SECCG. I know it's something that Ole Miss fans aren't familiar with.

UTC beat UTK in 1958 and tore down the Neyland posts.

You know, I read that and thought, "WTF, Vols? You let Chattanooga tear down your goal posts?"

and the I read the link:

"The 1958 game was memorable not only because of the Chattanooga victory, but also a riot that broke out after the game when some fans tried [emphasis added, ed.] to tear down the goal posts.
...
Just as the Moc victory over Tennessee was unusual, so was the post-game melee that followed.
As some fans tried to tear down the goal posts, a scuffle took place and police tried to intervene. What followed was a major riot involving paddy wagons, tear gas and fire hoses.

“The older I get, the more I think about the riot after the game than the game,” Wilkes said.

Etter also has memories from the post-game escapades. He said he had come out of the locker room after showering when he first noticed that a confrontation was taking place.

“I sat down on the ground and watched,” he recalled. “Several UC fans were arrested, and a paddy wagon drove onto the field to pick them up.”"

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about, Vols.

We have also. 1998

Beat South Carolina for homecoming (first time I remember ever winning a homecoming game, also snapped a 22 game SEC losing streak). This was also the year the Titans were playing at Vanderbilt Stadium and this happened to be the only weekend that they both had home games. The police defended the goalposts like their lives depended on it, mace and batons were flying everywhere. It was pretty funny to watch, the students ran from one end zone to the other and kept getting turned away, they gave up after a few times across the field.

Next week, beat Duke in OT. The administration felt bad about the week before and pretty much begged the students to tear down the goal posts. It was also a pretty week effort but they got them down.

Only 2 wins that year. Perfect season.

I don't know, there might be an urge to rush after LSU beats the red team at home this year...

No SEC school other than Vandy or Kentucky should ever rush their home field.

Mostly just the students and a few lower level sections. As field rushes go, it was nothing compared to LSU 07 or UT 11.

Alabama fans tore down the goalposts after winning the 1977 Sugar Bowl, thinking they had won the National Title.

It was only the 2nd time they've ever beaten Spurrier as a player or coach.

The casty coming from an Ole Miss fan is hilarious though.

Some did after the 90 Iron Bowl, but not that many. Maybe around 100, mostly students. Bham police clubbed and maced them. They didn't even try for the goalposts.

Not exactly true because I was one of those students. There were about 200 of us on the concourse around Legion in front of the student section just waiting to leave and all of a sudden a bunch of dudes start jumping on the field. Well I jumped and ran to midfield saw Gary Hollingsworth and patted him on the shoulders and I then I noticed all the cops so I just took off back for the fence and made it over. There weren't even probably 50 people on the field. My buddy jumped the fence and makes a bee line for the goal posts and starts trying to climb up them and realizes he is literally the only one at the goal posts and cops are coming. He then slides down and jumps over the fence. The whole way back to T-town he caught shite. "How long do you think it would have take you to get those goal posts down by yourself?" "At what point did you notice you were the only person at the goal posts much less on them?"

You know what I mean.

Although, I'm only assuming they knew the two teams ahead of them lost. I'm not sure what order the games were played.
