re: Most talented songwriter under 50?

If y'all like Tyler Childers, you should give Ian Noe a shot. A little more Americana, but some powerful lyrics. Meth Head is great, as is Irene (Raving Bomb). Another Kentucky fella on the way up.
The Harvest - Tyler Childers.

I would post a link, but it's been taken down almost everywhere. It's on his outstanding Bottles and Bibles album.

Won't you tell my baby sister
That I'll be back in the fall
'Cause it's better to have false hope
Than no hope at all

Did he finish the year as the leading passer, rusher, and receiver for UK?

Just receiving and rushing. He only attempted 58 passes in the final 7 games. That's what so impressive - Kentucky was virtually no threat to pass the ball through the back half of the season and Bowden was still able to rush for the 2nd most yards in the SEC.

Lynn Bowden essentially rushed for 1200 yards in 7 games. Through the first 5, Bowden had 99 yards rushing on 13 attempts. He also had 30 receptions for 348 yards.

Through the last 7 games, he had 0 receptions and 138 rushes for 1136 yards.

Mr. Electric.

not going to argue with anyone's top 5, but haven't seen Jersey Giant listed here. Only can be found on youtube, but the duet with his wife is a must-hear

re: Rank the 2019 SEC QBs

I think Wilson takes a step forward in 2019, but there's some pretty good returning QBs in the league.

Wilson was 67.2% for 1889 with 11 TDs and 8(!) INTs. He will need to have fewer INTs and get closer to 2500 yards for UK to have a successful season this year.
Not that I have a ton of experience, but we went to the Gator Bowl a few years ago and a couple of places stood out:

The Bearded Pig - good bbq and a few local draft beers
Sidecar - good craft cocktail/whiskey bar
Dos Gatos - great craft cocktail bar
Josh Allen was a 2*
Bunchy Stallings was a 2*
Wesley Woodyard was a 3*
Danny Trevathan was a 2*
Benny Snell was a 3*
Randall Cobb was a 2* (bumped to 3* late)
Bud Dupree was a 3*

For future folks that will probably be big for UK next season:

Calvin Taylor was completely unranked
Jamar "Boogie" Watson was a low 3*/2*

ILB Jared Casey - athletic ILB who will allow Chris Oats to move to OLB; likely ST and backup at MLB to Kash Daniels.

S Moses Douglas - big fluid athlete at S, a position that lost both starters from 2018. Likely to be a ST and backup at FS. Could easily push Robinson to Nickel and end up a starter.

CB MJ Devonshire - nice size for a CB, a position that lost both starters and a backup from 2018. Definitely a rotation player in 2019.

OLB KD McDaniel - burst athlete at OLB; Kentucky has decent depth there but should be a guy who can come in and play Sam in the rotation. Love his potential.

QB Amani Gilmore - good athlete at a position of need; productive player in HS. Won't be a freshman starter, but probably Kentucky's QB of the future as a rsSO or so.

Dude was pretty good at UK when he was here. Good get for the Vols.

I know Matt personally and hate to see him go. He's going to be great in KC.

as much as i love utz cheez balls, Kentucky is Grippo's BBQ

pls correct tia
Martin's recruits never panned out at UK under Joker; he brought in some exciting players (athletically) that either couldn't stay eligible or couldn't stay out of trouble.

He was asked during his second (I think) year as UK's WR coach why the WR corps seemed to be having trouble catching balls and getting open and he replied "I don't know, I never played the position."
i worked a shutdown on that mill about 20 years ago or so

best part of that short job was po boys from Sportsmans

and drinking at the Wagon Wheel

TAMU is worst in the SEC in sacks allowed; 17 in 5 games, or 3.4 per game. That is good for 121st in the country, of 130 teams ranked.

Josh Allen finna eat.
Hello thread

I am following this with interest
if kentucky won the national championship it would be at 14-1 with a loss to UF
Charles Walker returned punts for UK for the last 2.5 years, although we had a freshman take over punt returns late in 2017. He had a 64 yard TD (first since Randall Cobb) in 2016.
