"If I would've known I was only going to get 18 games to be offensive coordinator, I would've stayed at the University of Arkansas," McDonald said on Tuesday night. "I would've never came here."
Damn. That's pretty harsh.

Is it bad that I don't know who this guy is?
He was Bielema's original hire here as WR coach. He was only here for a few weeks before leaving to take the Syracuse OC job when his buddy was hired there as head coach. We plucked him off the Miami staff because he's a local legend down there and a great recruiter.

We'll seeing as this is a vent thread.
HIRE MCDONALD BACK ASAP!!

Well shite. Not like we're hurting for S. Florida croots, but as Alan Jackson said, too much of a good thing is a good thing.

That would be hilarious. Especially considering this quote:
quote:
Said McDonald: "I think it's important for people to know that I'm not a quitter.
I can remember thinking he would be huge to our recruiting success in Miami and hated when he quit on us.

In the long run Smith is more important for opening a crack in the door to New Orleans.
We need to find a spot for McDonald if Bert isn't too butthurt about him leaving after a couple weeks.
Other than Chaney's tard moments I like our staff despite not having a QB coach.

it's humorous to look back at what hog fans said about him after we hired him. it's like bert knows how to hire assistants or something

We were less than impressed with the guy.
For me it was more of a fear of the program reverting back to cronyism and bro-hires.

Probably going to try the TE reverse throwback pass to BA.

While the cutesy calls do make me throw a wobbler every now and then I'm used to them. I remember Nutt had the same tendency to think outside the box... usually with disastrous results. "I'm calling a conservative game plan, its working, and we are in a tight ball game. So the other team won't expect a triple reverse flea flicker on third and one!"
I'm tired of folks with fricking goldfish memories. "Arkansas has been down for two years, therefore they have always been down, and will always be down."
Mostly I am tired of finding ways to lose big ball games. That, hopefully, will change soon.

Great idea, there is one thing I do want to vent about here, and since there is no line here I'll unload.
Listen, I get calling out coaches. It's basically written in their contracts that they will be criticized, often times warranted often times not. It doesn't matter, they're getting paid to do this and getting paid handsomely.
But the one thing that absolutely makes me lose my shite is ragging and calling out players by fans. These young men go through exhausting workouts and practices on a daily basis and sacrifice a large portion of their college experience that we take for granted, and then they get called out by some fat, middle-aged armchair QB about shite that happens in the heat of the moment against elite competition. Just a heads up, football isn't fricking easy. Some will respond with "hurr durr they get a free education and get to slay cleat chasers". Most people don't understand but college athletics, especially football, is an extremely glorified version of the gladiator/slavery phenomenom. By that I mean they tell these kids when to wake up, when to eat, what classes they can take, when they have free time, etc.. I got through college full paid on an academic scholarship, all I had to do was keep a 3.25. These athletes have to keep their GPAs on top of performing in their respective sports with all of the daily time requirements for their sports. Regarding cleat chasers, was it that hard for you to get laid in college? Was it? Hell the amount of time they have to bang is limited compared to the average college kid. I had the opportunity to do college athletics and I said frick that with a giant bag of dicks, I wanted to actually enjoy the college experience and focus completely on the things I loved the most. By that I mean something I actually got paid to fricking do.
So before you want to call out a player, have some introspection first. No, introspection does not entail looking down and wiping the wing and dip stains off your wife beater you fricks. This doesn't mean we can't have fun like Alshon is a porker and Nick Marshall can't annunciate. But as a fan to rip a player for playing their hearts out and giving everything they have to a program, well my only response is GFY with a bag of aids, dicks, and fire you cock goblins.

This is a great vent and you make some good points.
This is our fight club. The first rule of our fight club is we don't talk about it. If you do then I'll come in here and vent about it.

So just for clarification we can make fun of opponent players? I hope. :)
I completely agree with you in regards to our hoggies.

There's a difference between making fun of and bashing.
Fred Talley has no such thing as peripheral vision, Peyton Hillis and Mitch Petrus often debate particle physics while watching lectures from Nobel laureates, and I can confirm that DMac does in fact have dat wood.
I don't really want to point out exapmles on the other side...
