Can South Carolina bounce back to be a factor in the SEC?

Along with UGA, they were a trendy pick to win the SECEast. The saying goes its always better to lose early rather than late, but to lose at home like they did was a shocker.
I guess my real question is, can we write off USC for 2014, or does SOS still have any magic left.

It takes one win next weekend and they'll be right back in it. Yes, they have to travel to Auburn, but Georgia plays Auburn too.
They're still right in the thick of it.

We'll have to wait and see what the Scrooster says, he is the source for all things SCAR.

They lost to an awful UT last year and still managed 11 wins.
Never count out the OBC.
Never count out the OBC.

The OBC with nothing to lose is always dangerous

All they have to do is kick the shite out of the Dawgs in a couple of weeks and they're right back in it.
And that could actually happen.
And that could actually happen.

Why you butthurt? Where did scrooster touch you?
To answer the question, all depends on the defense. Dylan Thompson will be good but not great. I really don't see it this year honestly. I say we finish 3rd or 4th. I hope I'm wrong. ECU is a pretty good team and runs a similar offense to A&M, so I'm worried about them right now.

No, because aggy beat them which means they suck.

They are done. The OBC doesn't care anymore. He will retire after this year. You heard it here first.

Yeah Thompson isn't the most efficient passer in the world but his stat line read 366 yards for 4 TDs and another dropped by the WR (via excellent hit by an Aggie DB) and most of the time we were in obvious passing situations and an abysmal run game. If our defense wasn't so awful I think the Gamecock faithful, and the SEC, would be singing his praises.
With that said our defense was bad. I'm not sure if one game and 5 more days of practice can just fix those issues. ECU is an "air raid" team and even when we hammered them a couple of years ago they still had a bunch of passing yards. Then comes one of the best rushing attacks in the SEC with UGA. Something that may help out the DBs but our Dline might get blown off the line.
We'll see. There is a lot of work to do in a short period of time.

Whoa CNB, sounds like you may be butt hurt, I'm quite serious when I posted that the Scrooster is the one to give us all an informed opinion on where SCAR ends up this season and he's the man when it comes to all things SCAR, no slight to you CNB, you're alright.

Im not sure SOS has that much fight left in him to be honest. He's done well at USC without a doubt, but that game had to shock him as much as it did the rest of us. As an offensive guy himself, all he can really do is yell at his defensive coaches/players a lot and go play some golf.
Some teams aren't built to defend the spread as well as others.

Yes, they can and likely will be a factor in the SEC. Don't ever sleep on OBC.

A&M is going to make most defenses look bad. USC will be fine.

Did Spurrier die today?
You'd think the man has never suffered an embarrassing defeat or something.

Wouldn't surprise me in the last if they end up 9-3 by the end of the season

My bad if I got your tone wrong. Text doesn't always translate well

Dawgs got boat raced in Columbia in '12 and still made it to ATL. (Pretty sure we won the SEC that year...I missed the last 7 seconds of that game). No one associated w/ UGA is taking SC lightly.
