I'd say he's a douche for throwing blame onto a player

I knew as soon as i read the qoute who said it and when. It was shaq saban's first year at LSU and josh booty had just audibled out of the called play and the db jumped the sideline route, took it to the house and UAB beat LSU.

It wasn't a pick 6 but yea Booty called a play that wasn't in the playbook. I'd think the same of him as I would of a coach saying I didn't tell the QB to clock it

So you are syaing that this is a quote from shaq or from saban? Cause if its shaq then this quote is pointless. Thats just a fan of a team defending a coach even though he probably had no clue what wasa going on

Now that you mention it, I remember that.
Booty made up the play and/or audibled to Evangeline (sp) was it? After the game someone left the mic on in the LSU locker room and you could hear Saban saying something like, "I hate that fricking guy," referring to Booty?

I call nick shaq because he's such a "big man". Northshore, i wouldn't bet my life on it, but i'm 99% sure it was a pick 6.

Can't think of a time when Spurrier said anything like that.
not sure if serious and you do realize he coached in other places than USC
ETA. Here is a great quote of his I remember.
QB after throwing pick, "Coach, I'm sorry"
Spurrier to QB, "I am too, Im sorry I ever recruited your arse"

If he's talking about the actual play call I'd call him a douche
If he's talking about the pick six id call him slightly less of a douche but still a douche making light of a bad play

I forgot about that one. UAB and UL Monroe. Saban Killers

I'd think Dan Mullen hired his good friend John Cohen to coach QBs and he's also allowing him to stand in and field questions from reporters after losses.

"I told that QB, that master mind of that particular play, to establish ownership of that play, and to carry himself with pride going forward as a leader and young man of excellence who chose to establish the tradition of leadership in this stadium, in a game played on fine, supple green grass, by choosing to audible when the opportunity to alter the plan presented itself. Congratulations on a great career."

Don't know the context of the comment but it sounds sarcastic. No issue.
